Residence Hotel Takayama Station is situated conveniently in the centre of Takayama, and offers a fitness centre, free WiFi and a terrace. This 4-star hotel offers luggage storage space. Out of all the hotels I’ve stayed in in Japan, this one is by far the best. The room is very clean and fragrant, and has complete amenities in the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. It even has a washing machine that is easy to use. I also love the balcony - it has a great view of the train station. The staff are really nice. They communicate and respond well to questions. They even offered me extra bottled water when I requested for more. One of them also helped me with my luggage delivery even though he was on his break. The hotel is in a perfect location, just beside the bus/train station. There’s a FamilyMart nearby and everything is a short walking distance away. I really got my money’s worth. I would definitely stay here again! I had a lovely time.

The staff were so welcoming and helpful. The location is ideal just a few mins walk from station. For those planning to go shirakawago i would highly recommend to spend at least 1 night in Takayama.

Situated 1.6 km from Takayama Station, Iroriyado Hidaya is a recently renovated 4-star accommodation in Takayama, boasting a garden, a shared lounge and private parking. -staff was so kind and welcoming. Spent time with us to explain nearby areas and restaurants, spent time with my daughters to try on kimonos. Everyone was so kind and amazing. -Room was awesome and spacious. We had 2 children (age 11 and 8), 2 adults. We enjoyed the room and space. -Bedding (futon, comforter, pillows) was high end quality. Excellent comfort and clean. -Yukata robes in the room for each person to wear to onsen and in the house -Japanese breakfast was delicious ! We had 2 breakfasts, the menu was different each morning. -Hotel is not in the downtown area but we liked that. We enjoyed being away in a quiet area and the walk was not bad. Taking taxi was also easy and cost about 1,000 yen each way. -Onsen was very nice, and private. Super clean and so enjoyable to relax after a full day out. We stayed for two nights and while it cost more than other hotels, it was well worth it. Everything was superb. The selection of beautiful kimonos were amazing; I ended up buying 2 (one for my daughter, one for me). We can’t wait to go back and visit the staff, and experience the quietness of Takayama.

時のホテル is situated in Toki, within 44 km of Nagoya Station and 45 km of Aeon Mall Atsuta. The property is around 41 km from Oasis 21, 42 km from Toyota Stadium and 43 km from Nagoya Castle. Everything was great. I'd absolutely stay here again and again. The staff was not fluent in English but they were very helpful and used a translating app to speak to us. The room was clean, breakfast was great, the sauna and hot springs (2 large bath tubs) were amazing as well. 5 Stars.

Situated conveniently in the centre of Takayama, 民宿 和屋 offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and free private parking. The futon bed was a nice experience and very comfortable. The host was very helpful, and drove us to the apartment. Located a few minutes walk from the shrine.

Situated just 9.4 km from Wara History Museum, 花緑里-Hanamidori-乙原のやど 岐阜下呂温泉郡上飛騨金山湖畔リゾート provides accommodation in Gujo with access to a garden, a terrace, as well as a 24-hour front desk. We had a very nice time, beautiful surroundings and the owner was great to us! Very recommended

Guesthouse SHIGI is located in Nakatsugawa, 46 km from Gero Station, 7.7 km from Toson Memorial Museum, as well as 7.7 km from Magome Wakihonjin Museum. A random search led us to Guesthouse Shigi and what a lucky find! 10 minutes drive from Magome-juku and plenty of beautiful natural sights to explore nearby. We enjoyed every bit of our stay here. Had a lovely chat with Assi the owner and he even hand picked the record for us to listen to that night. The house is impeccably maintained and every detail is cared for.

Set within 700 metres of Gero Station and 48 km of Takayama Station, 寅家 Japanese modern hotel offers rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Gero. The room was spacious, comfortable bed. The private onsen was amazing. The service incredible. We especially loved the staff's restaurant recommendation at Iwananosato Hazama 岩魚の里 峡 on the way to Tsukeji Gorge.
