Located in the town of Boroughbridge, the historic Grantham Arms offers bedrooms just 5 km from Staveley Nature Reserve and Newby Hall & Gardens. I was staying alone to break up a long drive south and this was such a nice surprise. Really gorgeous room with so many nice touches and incredibly comfortable. So much character too. The breakfast was also great and all the staff really friendly. A really cool place to stay. Also, even though it’s a pub with rooms it didn’t feel like that. Everything was hotel quality, spotlessly clean and a lot of effort has gone into the rooms so they feel really special.

This 17th century Grade II listed house is located in pretty village of Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales. Excellent position in the middle of Grassington at the end of a quiet alley. Ample private parking. A wide non-buffet cooked to order breakfast, which would satisfy anyone. A lovely quaint traditional building beautifully kept. Very friendly owners and staff.

Set in an elegant Victorian house, the 4-star Fountains Guest Accommodation is just a 5-minute walk from Harrogate’s historic centre. I very much liked the keyless entry to the property, the location (short walk into the town centre), the v. nice breakfast and the responsive staff. The super comfy bed was a bonus!
