All meals had a home-cooked warmth and care. One can sample local wild game meat if available. We had venison in season. And the owners helped prepare a delicious breakfast bento because we had to leave at 6.30am. Room was quiet second floor unit in the midst of a rural village scene with open fields and foggy hills surrounding us in the autumn. Star gazing was also a treat. Also best location to visit Komyoji and Ankokuji temples during autumn leaves and Unkai chasing.

Delightful experience. We were warmly welcomed by the hosts, who went out of their way to make our stay very memorable. The temple experiences were genuine with a lot of options to choose from. The accommodation was traditional Japanese style, very clean, with a fully renovated bathroom. The food was outstanding, a real highlight. Great care was taken in everything offered. Hosts spoke excellent English. They provide this service to maintain the working temple, so it’s clear why they cared so much for us in order to benefit their community.

Even though there are no staff on site (reception 2 minutes walk away), they were amazingly responsive to my questions and handled things super quick (needed to ask for a knife for the kitchen). It is old building with modernization facility. Good kitchen and air condition and the parking lot is nearby also. It have a beautiful small courtyard and you can take very good portrait. just 10~15mins walking time that you can visit Higashiyoshihara. Actually, I visit East Maizuru Brick Park in the 1st day and west Maizuru for 2nd day. It is good and comfortable house for me.
