The location was really cool and the facilities were great. The house was very spacious which was nice for our family of 5 travelling. We did not follow the spa instructions and as a result the it was super hot, I would recommend following the instructions provided in the house

Very friendly staff - Theodore the restaurant manager was a delight to meet. He went out of his way to serve is even after the restaurant had closed because we had arrived to the hotel so late in the evening. Beds were very comfortable. Front desk staff in the AM also was very helpful with suggestions for what to see in our next destination in Iceland.

Everything was perfect. From location to host to facilities. There are farm animals roaming around the property and you can pet them. The location is in middle of a horse breeding farm and host is more than happy to show you around the property. He happily gave us a tour of horse stable and how he trains the horse. Both host's are very friendly and flexible with check-in and checkout. Great view of Icelandic country side and it gets pretty dark at night outside, so perfect location to see Aurora. Definite recommendation.

Breakfast was included with our room and was a good spread and filling for the day of hiking. The location was perfect for what we had planned. We also ate dinner at the Rock and Troll Restaurant both nights we stayed there. The food and the service were very good. As someone who is very familiar with music from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s, the music being played during breakfast and dinner was excellent. I would recommend Fossatun Country Hotel for anyone who wants to see and hike Iceland’s beautiful countryside.
