Meals were great for both breakfast and dinner. Dinner repertoire were limited as we stayed for 5 nights. Hotels were new and love the outdoor and indoor Onsen. That was the main highlight..

It's actually a very nice Onsen Ryokan styled hotel in my opinion.
The welcome drinks bar is fully stocked up (no alcoholic beverages my fellow aussies) with beverages. The staff members are helpful (except maybe one or two?)
The outdoor Onsen is GREAT!!! Make sure you avoid the after meal rush hours.
The food is most definitely beyond expectation!!!
Walk to shops and other nearby affiliated onsen as well as chairlifts. Plenty of parking in front.

Jacky was great during our hotel stay. It was awesome we could chat in Taiwanese. That tea on New Year's Eve was so warm and lovely.
Featuring traditional Japanese hot springs known as ‘onsen’, these hotels allow you to take a relaxing soak in therapeutic geothermal waters. Traditionally, onsens were located outdoors but a number of hotels also offer indoor facilities for private or shared use. The healing properties of each onsen will vary depending on its location, with ‘kuroyu’ black water known for its positive effects on skin.

Very beautiful traditional ryokan, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Had a blast snowboarding for the first time and enjoyed the onsen after a whole day out in the cold. Breakfast and dinner are delicious and very large portions.
Everything is really nice, it is an old style ryokan and very good hot spring. Room is spacious with view. Was able to use the washing machine for free!
Located on the main hot spring street , walkable to the Ropeway. Lots of restaurants nearby however some required advance booking. The hosts are very lovely and nice. If you want to experience authentic ryokan this will be the place to go
Breakfast is good and staff at breakfast room is nice.
Size of the room is quite large for Japan standards. The room is well equipped, storage is great.
Outdoor onsen is nice, but is it 100m away from the hotel, not a big deal. But just keep that in mind.
Close to the property. Love the private onsen, the host even provides the local milk to the customer to enjoy after soaking in the hot spring. Also the shuttle bus service is pretty handy.
Yoshidaya Ryokan is a beautifully presented traditional ryokan. Its right in the middle of the old part of Zao Onsen surrounded by historic buildings.
This is a traditional Ryokan so be prepared to walk up stairs and use shared facilities.
The rooms are very warm and comfortable and the Ryokan facilities are well presented and clean.
The Hot Spring bath was wonderful!
I will be staying at Yoshidaya again!
Good location, just 5 mins walk from the Yamako Bus terminal. The ryokan's owner is very friendly to the guest. He can speak a little English too.
They also serve some tasty Japanese breakfast and dinner. They offer free tickets for entry to the 3 public hot springs nearby. I will be staying at Takasagoya again the next time I am here to see the snow monsters.
Cozy Ryokan with very friendly owner, I could keep my baggage in the lobby after checking out. There is a heater in the room. The hot spring bath was superb.
