Hagi No Yado Tomoe is a charming historic Inn that provides a high standard of accommodation and customer service.
The building is lovely with a stunning large zen garden.
Our tatami room was spacious, clean and comfortable with separate entrance room and bedroom offering very comfortable western style beds.
There were large windows offering lovely garden and river views.
Inn staff were very helpful and prior to arriving our bus station pick-up was arranged and a Shrine tour for the next day, that was very enjoyable and informative.
The Inn also provided good information for further self-planned exploration of wonderful Hagi and as the weather was very hot when there, drove us to a starting point for our self exploration.
All information regarding the use of the on-site onsen was provided with lovely high quality products and requirements provided in the room.
The traditional breakfasts were truly exceptional with a great deal of care and expertise involved in providing the best service and presentation possible and using amazing local produce.
I highly recommend the Inn and would love to stay again.

View from onsen really nice over the water. Staff were so friendly (beyond usual friendly), I had the half board and it was great quality and plentiful. View from room really nice. Huge room. Opening windows. Everything was very well organised (people to guide you to a parking spot, dining, etc)
Featuring traditional Japanese hot springs known as ‘onsen’, these hotels allow you to take a relaxing soak in therapeutic geothermal waters. Traditionally, onsens were located outdoors but a number of hotels also offer indoor facilities for private or shared use. The healing properties of each onsen will vary depending on its location, with ‘kuroyu’ black water known for its positive effects on skin.
It was amazing trip and beautiful place, hotel was very clean and comfortable and near to the sea with amazing view.We are enjoyed a lot and will stay there again for sure!
At the first the Ocean view was fascinating. Around the hotel was so quiet and peaceful. And also you can hear the sound of waves all the time which is so relaxing and comfortable. The concept of this hotel is so interesting and I looooved the costume the owner wore. It makes me associate with Pirates of Caribbean. The room and shower room are very clean and well organized. And also they running a restaurant and bar, it’s so convenient cuz there is any restaurant and pub near there.
The location directly on the seaside!
The entire place is very clean and well maintained (also the common spaces).
Spacious room with all the kitchenette equipment.
Very comfortable futon beds.
The actual status of the place is way better than what shown in the pictures!
