The natural hot spring, as well as the onsen baths, feature what might be the most breathtaking view I have ever had the pleasure to experience. You feel like you are in the Shikotsuko lake, rather than in front of it. The service, staff, room equipment were absolutely spotless, and the irori kaiseki dinner we had was just A marks on all fronts, environment included. The fact that you cannot take pictures of the onsen except during the first 20 minutes of the cleaning shift adds to the magic, making it an experience during which you must and want to be completely aware, to take it in to the fullest and engrave the scenery in your memory.

Featuring traditional Japanese hot springs known as ‘onsen’, these hotels allow you to take a relaxing soak in therapeutic geothermal waters. Traditionally, onsens were located outdoors but a number of hotels also offer indoor facilities for private or shared use. The healing properties of each onsen will vary depending on its location, with ‘kuroyu’ black water known for its positive effects on skin.

Amazing onsen both in the room and public, stunning lake view from the lounge, free tea and croissants that were not even advertised, shuttle to JR station, just generally a very elegant and cozy vibe. One of the best ryokans I ever stayed at.
The accommodation, the service, the staff, the food and the Onsen where all excellent.
From spacious rooms to the picture perfect outdoor Onsen. This hotel couldn't be more perfect.
It is at a private corner of the airport. Good place to relax in their private onsen after a long trip. There was an English speaking staff during night shift.
The facility and the room were both very modern and easy to use. The room we booked were a little pricy but it was worth the money. The beds were very comfortable, aircon was stable, and sound control was done very nicely. From the window, we could see the airplanes/fighter jets taking off and landing, which added to the excitements during the stay. We also enjoyed the hot spring bath.
It was within the airport terminal building so shops were easily accessible without having to go out to the winter cold!
Very exclusive as there aren’t many rooms . hardly see anyone in onsen so it’s like having your own private onsen. Even have popsicle in onsen . Dinner is excellent . Room is spacious .
unbeatable locations of the onsen ryokan at the lake. it’s so nice to immerse yourself at the onsen looking over the lake and volcanoes. delicious dinner and wide spread buffet breakfast.
