We had a great stay at the Nozawa Onsen Lodge. It is backpackers style accommodation with shared kitchen and bathroom which are spotlessly clean. Dredd the manager was such a nice person, as was his wife. They have small baskets of shampoo and body wash in reception that you can borrow to take to the public onsens around the town which was a great experience. The location was a 2 minute walk to the Gondola.

With garden views, Echoland Madarao エコーランド斑尾 Free shuttle to the ski resort is located in Madarao Kogen and has a restaurant, luggage storage space, bar, garden and terrace.

Even so I stayed only one night, I felt felt really welcomed from the first step in the Hotel. The owner was very friendly and warm. They cooked a very good dinner for me. After a perfect and silent night in the very cozy bed. I enjoyed a great breakfast before I was driven by car to the bus station by the owner. I can absolutely recommend this place.

Very cosy very quiet. Surroundings are beautiful. Room was very spacious. Onsen was nice :) But the staff were the best!!! They were so kind and lovely. They even helped us arrange doctor visit and medicine when my partner was sick. Meals included were also delicious!

Unfortunately the bath water failed during our stay. We were given coupons for the bathhouse 300m away. The hosts were wonderful, welcoming and attentive people. The food was terrific! Not 5 star, but considering the cost, it was great. Would stay again.
