Well situated in the centre of Suzhou, PACE HOTEL Suzhou Guanqian Branch offers air-conditioned rooms, a shared lounge, free WiFi and a restaurant. Very conveniently located next to Metro station, super friendly and helpful staff, and overall cleanliness and service was great. They provide bottled water, a coffee machine in the lobby to use for free, and there's a microwave for your use in the basement area. Walking distance to 观前街, and easy to get to all the touristy/garden areas by Metro. Lots of food options on the street behind it. Rooms were very clean and comfy. I'd definitely come back again if I return to Suzhou :)

Shangri-La Hotel Nanjing is located in the centre of vibrant Gulou District. Everything. The hotel is close to the Xuanwu Lake and in walking distance to the Xuanwu Gate. It’s easy to get in and out traffic wise but feel quieter than the Xinjiekou area. The hotel is newer than most peer group such as Westin and Hilton. The staff is very friendly and better quality than its peer group as well. The cleaning staff especially go out of their way to help. Their Chinese restaurant Jiangnan Zao is delicious. We stayed in three hotels (Westin, Hilton Riverside) in Nanjing on a recent trip and Shangrila is by far the best.
