North Adams is attracting a lively visual arts culture, and it shows even in the hotel. HD was a fantastic choice for touring North Adams by foot. It is in walking distance to a museum of contemporary art (Mass MoCA). The common areas of the hotel were impressive. An expansive recently remodeled lobby with seating options, nonstop coffee and tea, and fruit. The indoor pool and large hot tub were nice. They have saunas too, although they were locked when we were there in September. I enjoyed the view from our upper floor room. Parking was convenient.

The breathtaking views at the Clover Hill Farm are matched only by the boundless hospitality and laid-back affability of the owners. Carolyn and Robert made me feel like family well before I set foot on their beautiful farm, calling me to provide some guidance on making myself at home in the event they were out upon my arrival. They were both kind enough to endure multiple stretches of my pontification, gave me a tour of their enchanting and down-home house, and even indulged some of my farm-life fantasies!
The menagerie of horses, beagles, chickens, geese, and my favorite - Murphy, the one-horned goat, form a lively backdrop to this idyllic refuge.
My room was spotless, full of country charm, and incredibly spacious. All the modern amenities, toiletries, etc. were graciously and thoughtfully provided.
The location truly offers the best of both worlds - the serenity of a sizable farm along with the convenient proximity to the wonderful Clark Art Institute, the Mass MOCA, and Williams College.
I truly can't wait to visit again, and introduce my family to this little slice of New England pastoral paradise and the wonderful people who call it home!

Breakfast was great. Fresh berries, fruit, artisan granola, breads and yogurt. Pastries. Excellent coffee and choice of creamers.

Location is quiet and serene, price point was spot on for the area, comparable to any of the surrounding hotels but you get a whole house for the price. Yes it’s a rural area and you will have critters so get over it. Well appointed kitchen so you don’t need to eat out all the time. (And we forgot our stuff in the freezer) water comes from a well so keep your showers short city folks. Hot tub was divine especially in the morning with coffee.
Stepping into a hot tub and soaking in warm water is bliss. If you choose a hotel with a jacuzzi, you can do this any time you want – morning, afternoon, or evening. Some hotels offer private hot tubs, while others have shared jacuzzis, usually part of a wellness spa.
