Company information

Host is an old 90-year-old Slovak that build, this cottage to not be bored on pension. He always welcomes his hosts and shows them where everything is located, and gives advices where to buy fresh sheep cheese or milk. Where to get the freshest bread and which way the mushrooms grow.

Property information

Cottage is located on the slopes of Western Tatras 825 meters above the sea. It is a last building on a private road in middle of the woods. The closest other building is more than 50 meters away and they are separated by thick pine forest. Other local landmark is old abandoned limestone mine, which is now reclaimed by nature and host spectacular waterfalls if the weather is right. The cottage itself has its own well, but if you prefer fresh water there is spring with drinkable water just 60 meters from the cottage. The cottage was created in year 2007 by changing the old little cottage into today’s wooden house. The whole upper floor is completely wooden, which makes it easy to heat even in the winter months. The main room is outfitted with fireplace capable of heating the entire house (thanks to some rather modern piping) but in case it would be not enough there are electric radiators to help. Common room is outfitted with large table for up to 12 persons, where you can spend calm evening or a rainy day. Cottage is also outfitted with kitchen that includes fridge, microwave, dishwasher and cooker.

Neighbourhood information

If you wish to stretch your legs, there is beautiful view of Low Tatras just 20 minutes from the cottage by following the tourist route. Or if you feel like doing a small trip you can try to climb the local mountain "Babky" about 2 hours trip and enjoy the view Liptov and Orava regions as well as whole mountain ridge of Western Tatras, From "Suchý vrch up to "Baníkov" If you are a fan of Sheep cheese (or want to try it for the first time) there is a local "Salaš" or chalet, just 30 minutes’ walk away (or 5 minutes by car), where you can get many local products including the sheep milk, or they famous ram goulash.
