We live in the countryside in a small building plot with quite a lot of space around the houses. You can go straight out on hiking trails. Just under 20 minutes to drive to the center of Bodø. 13 km to Saltstraumen, which is a major tourist attraction. Quiet area. Many children and sometimes you hear them. The house is a full-fledged detached house of 70 sq. m. Two floors. It was completed in February 2020. Our guests express that they feel comfortable here. You do not need to bring a car. Take a bus or train. A 10-minute walk from the house is a center with a grocery store, hairdresser, pharmacy, cafe and fitness center. A warm welcome 😊

We who own the place are a married couple in their 60s and we live in the brown house next door.

From our little house you can go straight out into nature, easiest if you cross our garden. Cross-country skiing is possible from right from the front door. You are near Saltstraumen, the world's largest maelstrom, which is a really big tourist attraction. 15 minutes by car. Here you can fish without paying and you are almost guaranteed to catch fish. Prices for accommodation are naturally far lower here in Tverlandet than in the Saltstraumen itself. Less 20 minutes drive to the city centre. We recommend you see the harbor below Glasshuset (shoppingsenter). Here it is popular to take a walk on the breakwater and you get even closer to the sea. At the harbor you can take a rib to Saltstraumen. Big experience. In the city centre there are also regular boats taking you far out into the sea to visit several islands. We often ask ourselves why that many people wants to go to Lofoten. Why not see other parts of Nordland, our incredibly beautiful county. Stay in Bodø, not primarily to see the city but to seek out the surrounding nature. In Bodø we also have several festivals that go beyond classical music (in contrast to Nordland Musikkfestuke). Most popular is autumn's Parkenfestival with several international artists. From the town you drive up to the stairs below the top Kesiservarden. This mountain is immensely popular. The trip up takes plus/minus 45 minutes. Go there on a clear day and enjoy the view. You can see all the way to the Lofoten Wall. We always bring packed lunches/food and coffee when we go for walks. There are no cafes around the tour terrain. In Norway, there is free movement everywhere. We can recommend you to go to the island of Røst. It takes four hours by ferry. You don't need to bring a car. Stay overnight and return the next day, preferably in clear weather. You can go to the island of Værøy in the same way. Bodø is much of a music city with a great concert hall. In 2024, our small town with 50 000 inhabitants is the European Capital of Culture!
