Company information

Traditional Japanese dining has been greatly enriched by fermented foods, and it would not be an overstatement to say so. The owner, having personally researched fermented cuisine, has created a variety of dishes that emphasize "Shinshu ingredients × Fermented ingredients × Fermentation cooking," with a focus on local ingredients in Shinshu. Until last year, we provided a package that included a one-night stay with two meals, but starting from July of this year, we have separated the stay and dining experiences to enhance the restaurant division. We have designed menus that boost immunity and take into account the health of our guests who stay with us. You can savor upgraded dishes that go beyond "traditional ryokan cuisine." We believe you will be very satisfied with this new style of accommodation. I myself have a family with small children. Fermented dishes are indeed the cornerstone of good health for children as well. Please do enjoy these dishes. As a ryokan that welcomes even young children, we are committed to providing hospitality to ensure a pleasant stay for families with little ones.

The soup stock made from pickled plums is so flavorful that you'll want to drink it all. Opened 700 years ago, when you relax in the hot springs flowing directly from the source, you will find yourself in a resort area where the steam rises without a breeze. We have ``Umenoya Resort Matsukawakan''. We welcome our guests with ``elegance'' and ``hospitality.'' The theme will be ``7 Fermented Foods to Boost Immunity'' using traditional Shinshu fermented ingredients. The restaurant "Seven Stars Matsukawaan" had its grand opening on July 1, 2020. ·miso ・Soy sauce ・Pickles ・Sake lees ·Vinegar ·malt ·cheese Its origin lies in the use of the Shinshu secret ``7 Fermented Ingredients'' (the origin of the Seven Stars) as an alternative to chemical seasonings. You can enjoy a moment of your dreams in a space where you can feel the hot springs, stars, and food produced by the Umenoya Resort Group.Enjoy the seasonal atmosphere and hospitality throughout spring, summer, autumn, and winter. We will make suggestions for events and stays that you can enjoy. The hot spring inn, which was affectionately known as "Old Matsukawakan" until December 31, 2017, is now in its 31st year since its opening in 1988. With the changing times, people's opinions on travel have also changed significantly. We will continue to carry on the "spirit of hospitality" that we have cherished since our predecessors, and will continue to strive to improve.
