Will and Paola are super welcoming. They can help you organise tours if needed and they even offered to let me have my room until my bus at night. Whilst the hike around Huaraz are amazing they made my stay even more memorable with their hospitality.

Owner let me check in early at 730am after a night bus from Lima, and check out later at 9pm while waiting for my night bus :') large chain hostels will never let you do this without charging! Tours readily available, common kitchen is simple but has everything you need. Breakfast changes every 3days so that's great. No bunk beds in the dorms which is a plus cause who wants to climb after a day of hiking. Very hot showers as well. Good location from the square

We are really happy we booked this place and for a very decent price you really get a great experience. First, we were able to check-in very early in the morning when we arrived with the night bus from Lima - around 06:00 am. Thank you for that! We really, really needed the break. Second, we were able to check-out a lot later for 50 soles for both so we could rest until the night bus back to Lima. They were really helpful in booking us a taxi for one of our day trips and the owner took us in his car from the hostel to the bus station when we were leaving since there were no available cabs. The room is small but it's great to relax after crazy days of travel and hiking. We had a really clean private bathroom with probably the best running hot water in our entire Peru trip. The bed was really comfortable. There is a small breakfast included in the price. I wrote to the hosts before traveling and they were very responsive and helped me get in contact with an agency to discuss some hiking opportunities. The week we were there they just opened a bar with some nice activities going on so it's a great place to meet fellow travelers and grab something to drink. We recommend this place very highly!

She is knowledgeable about the region, is a great cook, is friendly and helpful. She also speaks very good English! The ambiance is really homely.

Everything. Host Erik is a fantastic person, went above and beyond to accommodate us. His whole family is very kind and generous. Breakfast was, for the first time in Central and South Americas, filling and good. Rooms were spacious and quiet. Good location and insanely good price value. Erik also offers a bunch of tours.

Set in Huaraz, 16 km from Estadio Rosas Pampa, Andean Mountains Hostel offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a garden and a restaurant. Extremely nice location at ~3800m, amazing views, you can start many hikes from there, Kolibris and sunset views. Good for passive acclimatization. The host is a Mountain guide and he was very attentive and had great suggestions for tours that he adapted to our fitness/acclimatization level. We were there in the wet season and had the whole place for ourselves and cooked all meals independently in the kitchen.

We where able to check straight in at 7am when we arrived off an overnight bus! and on the day we where leaving we had a 10pm night bus and we where allowed to have the room up to 3pm with no hesitation or extra charge!! We also planned hikes through the owners.

Boasting a bar, Montañero Hostel is set in Huaraz in the Ancash region, 2 km from Estadio Rosas Pampa. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen and a shared lounge for guests. Great place to stay and the family who runs the hostel is amazing. We were able to check in just after arriving by overnight bus, without an extra fee. Spacious room, hot water, good WiFi. The shared kitchen is upstairs and has nice views over the mountains. We were able to store our luggage for free after check out and could still use the kitchen and rooftop area. We forgot our laptop charger and they went out of their way to go to a courier to send it to our next destination (organizing it online didn’t work), which was so helpful and nice. Couldn’t recommend more to stay here.
