At first, I was hesitant as I am a female solo traveler and the place did not have many reviews, but this is due to the fact it’s a new hostel, and now I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when visiting San Jose. The location is very central, eating spots at walkable distance, supermarket, even a cute book store. Felt very safe here!

I walked to and from the hostel both at 8pm and 10pm and yes it is a bit sketchy, but I didn't feel unsafe. But they also happily help you get a taxi or uber if you prefer that.
