Love the idea of a double bed in a dorm room. There was lots of privacy thanks to the curtain. The upstairs chilling area was really nice, and loved the yoga mats and blocks, as well as hammock and comfy chairs. Good sized kitchen. Owner friendly and helpful, as were the volunteers and other guests.

ICO Living Hostel ligger i Playa Santa Teresa, 3 minuters promenad från Santa Teresa strand, och erbjuder boende med en trädgård, gratis privat parkering och en gemensam lounge. The facilities are awesome. Everything is clean and just like the pictures ☀️. There’s a coworking space, and the WiFi works perfectly (I do have calls every day). 3 min walking from the beach for magical sunsets 🌅Also, there’s a nice kitchen and dining area well equipped. The atmosphere for meeting people is great, and the staff is amazing, always willing to help 🙏🏼. From the hostels I’ve been to, this stands out for the top 10 ✨. ✨

Hostel Esperanza ligger i Pavones, 14 minuters promenad från Playa Pavones, och erbjuder boende med en trädgård, gratis privat parkering och en gemensam lounge. Amazing hostel in Pavones, perfect for surfing as it's literally 3 minutes walk from the main surfspot. Comfortable dorms and great kitchen, super well equipped! Charlie was super helpful and gave me great advice to always chose the right board (he has a very good selection of boards to rent). Last but not least, the vibe at Esperanza was great, I really felt at home there!

Bolita Trails and Lodging erbjuder boende med en trädgård och en bar i Dos Brazos. Vandrarhemmet erbjuder även gratis WiFi och gratis privat parkering. I came as a guest and decided to stay as a volunteer. I sincerely enjoyed my time soaking in the nature and wildlife. There is so much hiking you can do, I recommend staying at least a few nights to enjoy it thoroughly. A special thanks to Ron the owner for his kindness and the other volunteers and guests for a beautiful experience. I look forward to coming again!

Casa bohio surf ligger i Jacó och erbjuder en trädgård, en egen strand, en gemensam lounge och en terrass. The good: Chill, new, laid back hostel. A minute walk from the beach. We stayed in a private room. It was very clean and quiet at night and I had the best sleep! Room was cool enough with efficient fans and mesh over the windows to keep bugs out. Clean bathroom, well equipped kitchen. The host, Sebastian, was friendly and easy to talk to. He has put a lot of work into making a beautiful accommodation.

The Cafecito Surfhouse - Santa Teresa ligger i Playa Santa Teresa, 6 minuters promenad från Santa Teresa strand och 1 km från Playa Carmen, och erbjuder rum med luftkonditionering och delat badrum. Super cosy and great atmosphere! You feel like you are staying at a friends house and I love that! Chelsea and Lenin are awesome and so heartwarming! I will definitely be back some day! I can also really recommend Lenin as a surf instructor! He reads his students perfectly and you feel super safe with him! He takes you different places in Santa Teresa and get to experience different kinds of waves and have fun!

La Muñequita Lodge 2 - culture & nature experience ligger i Palmar Sur och erbjuder boende med gratis cyklar, trädgård och restaurang samt gratis WiFi. The most unexpected highlight of our visit was our stay at this fantastic workaway farm. The place is a wonderland of exquisite plants and wildlife. Our hosts were simply wonderful from the moment we arrived. The cabin blends into the landscape, with open windows on all sides. The sounds and scents of the farm just filled the air and made for a very cozy hideaway. The beds were comfy and the hammock on the balcony was a real bonus. We even had a pet dog for our visit! Workers on the farm are from all over the world and provided us with excellent company and conversation during the family-style dinner we all shared in the main house. Our hostess prepared easily the most delicious meals we had during our entire tour of Costa Rica. She even prepared banana flower, which is wonderful. Unfortunately, heavy rain prevented us from exploring the farm further. But the time we did spend there was very memorable. I wish we'd had more time to stay. Highly, highly recommended.
