Loved Our Stay at Loving Strangers Hostel!
We had such a great time staying at Loving Strangers Hostel! Stefan, the owner, was super friendly and made us feel right at home from the start. He gave us a tour of the hostel and even the area around it, plus he made us breakfast every morning and took care of anything we needed. It really felt like staying with a friend!
We stayed in the Musicians Room, and it was awesome. The decor was cool, the bed was super comfy, and everything was super clean. We honestly didn’t want to leave!
We’re definitely coming back next time we’re in town. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a cozy and welcoming vibe.

It was such a pleasure staying at the Aires hostel! The owner was such a hard working woman and you could feel that she put her heart into every detail. We arrived quite early in the morning and I asked if it was possible to check in earlier. She told us there were guests checking out in the morning so it was not possible to get into the room earlier but when we arrived, she already had the room ready within such a short time!! We checked in way earlier than expected, which was super nice :-) all other areas are incredibly clean and she provides some basic things in the kitchen like coffee and fresh fruit besides the standard kitchen utensils.
Alexandra and her family and partner took great care of us and it felt a lot like staying with a local family. I can only highly recommend staying here if you’re in Pico!!
Besides the incredible interpersonal experience, the hostel is also in a good location. Just 5 minutes walking to the next supermarket and there are swimming spots very close by as well.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for such an amazing stay at your hostel!

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
The hospitality of Pedro, Stefan and all the other staff made me feel at home away from home. The family diners were fantastic, the vibe was great, the rooms were clean. Great hostel!
Pedro and Stefan created an oasis of human connection in the midst of beautiful pico island. The atmosphere of this hostel is truly unique. In every detail you will find a loving, thoughtful touch.
Great location, near to the center of Madalena, good starting point to explore the island. Super nice view towards the seaside. Supermarket is around the corner and there were always enough parking spaces in front of the building.
Best hostel I've ever been!! Pedro and Stefan are so kind and helpful. They are a magnet for travelers with beautiful souls. Def. would recommend 10/10!!
This place felt more like a homestay than a hostel. Really felt welcome and wanted. The place is set in a beautiful garden, right on the edge of town and a short walk to restaurants. There is a separate workspace (if needed). Breakfast was a communal affair, and the pancakes were awesome. One of the best hostels I have stayed in, and I have stayed in many!
The best hostel in all Azores! Really good vibes, loving hosts, dreaming place, near from everything you need.
I loved the interaction between people, the dinners preparated at nights by the team or the guests, excellent!
I'll definitely stay more nights with them.
