Beautiful setting among the trees. Lovely balcony. The room we stayed in was spacious. The hostel was extremely clean. It was pretty close to hakone Yumoto station and restaurant options. Very good value for money. Nice coffee provided in the morning. We had a great stay here. There were plenty of things to do around Hakone and being based near Hakone yumoto station was a convenient spot to visit the sights and hot springs.
16 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, Hostel Hakone Lumi is situated in Hakone and features air-conditioned rooms.

Location is perfect, walking distance to all the attractions.
Wish we could stay longer as there were so much to experience.
Highlight : Morning walks through the old Tokaido road.
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
The staff were very friendly. The facilities were new and clean. The double room with a private bathroom was huge compared to the pictures on the website. The free breakfast was good as well. The overall atmosphere of the place was wonderful and we felt very safe staying here. We had to book this hostel as a last-minute change of plans and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.
This is a lovely hostel, one of the cleanest I’ve ever stayed at. They have the bunk beds that are more like booths so you have total privacy. Lovely onsen on site as well. Bonus points for the most attractive man I’ve ever seen in my life working there!
location, breakfast, room, staff
Hands down, the best place to stay for a solo traveler if you are planning to stay a night in Hakone. Just a 10 minute walk from the train station. You get your own cabin with a lockable sliding door and a key. So even though it's a hostel, you get your own cubicle with better privacy and safety. There's a restaurant with great affordable food and a lounge to hang out. And for my booking the breakfast was included which was delicious. The staff is very friendly as well.
Have been staying in K house chain in Fujikawaguchiko as well. Probably the best hostel in the Japan through out my stay. Very clean & lot of social space
One of the best hostels I've ever been to - very new, clean and fully equipped. The capsules were surprisingly spacious and even had their own little window and AC. They serve a delicious and rich breakfast. Also the location was great - easy to walk from the station or to reach some onsen, yet quiet.
We have been traveling for 4 months, and this is the best hostel we have stayed at, by far. It’s clean, the beds are of really good quality, it’s nicely located, and the staff does everything they can to help you with whatever you need.
Room was spacious, price was great (we booked early), onsen facility is ok. They have big lounge and they also have toys for rent for free so my toddler loves it. Breakfast was good with a lot of options, we love the side dishes and enjoy having different types of pickles and side dishes with rice. There is budget restaurant close by in case you want to opt for cheaper options.
Great location off the main streets of hakone but still close to everything. Perfect for a budget stay while the generous double-bed capsule style rooms offer way more privacy than a typical hostel, which was great. The shared bathroom and kitchen was always clean and the staff were friendly.
The hostel is very nice and cozy. Is a dormitory but is a private double bed separated by a door from the other beds, like a bunk bed ( you can see what I mean from the pictures). The bed was super comfortable as well as the pillows ( 4 in total which I really appreciated). There is everything you need and you can get there easily from the train station, about 15 mins walking (the last 3 are a bit steep).
great location, cheap beer, very cute little cabins and loved that the hostel was so quiet and everyone was super respectful. wouldnt have even known there were others sleeping in the same room!
