Facilities: traditional "Kominka" style. Clean and cared.
Services: the owner is attentive and helpfull. I enjoyed a lot the conversation with him :)I also appreciated the bikmotorbicycle rental :)

We loved everything about our stay at the guesthouse in Yamatohama!
Great guesthouse in a lovely village. Amazing nature, waterfalls, and beaches at Amami.
Snorkeling, kayaking, and SUPing can be done in the bay area of Yamatohama (at the guesthouse).
Really nice accommodation. Great breakfast—we loved the traditional Japanese chicken rice soup!
We also highly recommend the BBQ at the guesthouse.
This was by far our favorite guesthouse and location in Japan!
The owner and staff are amazing. We miss you all!

The beach right down the street is beautiful and empty and you can rent so many different water activities! Only thing: restaurants around the place are often closed or far away, you can take the bus there (which is going every half an hour until ~19:00) or make sure you have at least something you can eat ready at the hostel so in case you don't find something you are settled. The facilities were very clean and there was plenty of room in the shower and toilet room. We stayed in the standard double which left very little room for your things, but the bed was very comfortable. For one or two nights this is a perfect stay.
