Large room, no issues with the hot water, quiet in the evenings. Very large breakfasts with continental, Kerala or both style breakfasts if you want it. There is a common balcony overlooking a garden which we used each morning looking for the local birds. Restaurants aren't what we'd consider walking distance, but tuk-tuks are close and cheap. Their recommendations for restaurants were good and safe for the ones we tried. The Shikaras and houseboats are literally around the corner, but we recommend talking to the managers about booking those as they will steer you right. We tried both ways and got far better results from their recommendation.

The owner made Indian breakfast for us, it was awesome! The place was really clean, actually, the cleanest apartment we stayed in, even comparing to hotels we stayed in later on. The air conditioning was really good and the wifi worked very well. The place is also close to the beach and not far from the main shopping area. The trip by tuk tuk takes 5 minutes and the lady called it for us, so it was really easy to get around. There were a couple of restaurants nearby with tasty Indian food.

Mohammed is the best host you can imagine, he helps you with everything and is always available. Location is great, close to the beach and nice restaurants and cafés are nearby.

It was extremely clean, location was convenient, the host were friendly and welcoming. The internet was fast and reliable.

We had an excellent stay at Sithara homestay. The helpfulness of the owners was beyond any expectations and the place felt very welcoming. Communication with them was very smooth, and they gladly helped us with advice around the town and within Kerala. They even helped us to arrange very good value homestays in other parts of Kerala and arranged us a wonderful driver for 4 days - Midhun, whom we would highly recommend. In the morning they prepared us a delicious South Indian egg curry and tea. The warmth and friendliness of the owners and of Midhun definitely made our stay in Kerala all that much more enjoyable.
