Located in Mulu, AA Homestay provides accommodation with seating area. The homestay features family rooms. At the homestay, every unit is fitted with a desk. Location is great - only 5 minutes walk to the park and a RM5 ride to/from the airport, which is also close by. The facilities are basic - there is a fan in each room, good water pressure and clean sheets. There is no hot water but after a humid and sweaty day of activities, a cold shower does feel good! Albert and his daughter Mary are wonderful hosts and keep their property neat and spotlessly clean. Mary does the cooking and there is a menu to select from. I love her fried noodles and jungle ferns. Ask if ferns are available - Albert picks them fresh from the forest. Prices are also way cheaper than the Park Cafe. Tips. In the early morning and also at sunset hours, stand at the road just outside of the homestay and look towards the Park. You'll see the mountains/hills wrapped in clouds in the morning or in shades of orange/gold during sunset hours. Of course weather permitting.

The location is quite central in regards of the remote Mulu. 20 min on foot to the entrance of the national park and less than 2 min on foot to the airport (no, you do not hear planes at night, as there are no flights scheduled). Water, snacks and coffee is included. Meals are safe made and are offered for a fair price as well as cold refreshments. They have an own jetty, where you can be dropped of from the national park guides, when coming back from the tours. No "warm" showers (not necessary, as the outside temperature is mostly above 25 °C). Water is clean 😊

DA Family Mini Garden has garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Ranau. This guest house features a garden. The guest house features family rooms. Very hearty family, took perfect care of us, drove us around for very good price and communicated very good and steady. Meals cooked by the mother were delicious. We could pet cats and dogs. It was I think the cleaniest accommodation in Sabah :) Dont hesitate to contact them even if they seem to be fully booked! They can send you more info on how to get there by bus from Kota Kinabalu.
