This was a nicely put together guest house, lots of common space, free tea and coffee, and really comfortable beds! The host was very informative and speaks excellent English if your Japanese isn't up to snuff. The town is very small, but easily washable to the historic center. All residents were very welcoming and friendly!

Kuni and Noriko were delightful hosts and the meals they served were 5 stars. The best food we've had in Japan. It was a very comfortable sleep, a great shower room, and all meticulously clean. We loved our stay in their home. Ainokura was beautiful and don't miss the little museum in the village.

The environment is nice and great of this hotel. They have 2 buildings A and B, and each building got 5 rooms. Rooms is perfect, 3 Cs - clean, comfy and cozy. More to like a homestay. I will be back !! Wait for me. Thanks to the owner who keep us in great mood. The owner will respond via the message through Booking.com
Loved the style of the house. It almost felt like a cozy homestay with all amenities in place. There were scrapbooks with all information about the village which was very helpful and thoughtful of the host. Everything in the fridge was free for the guests to have and there were plenty of options. The location is just 10mins walk from the main bus station and the supermarket is just across the street.
Loved the place!
Lovely accommodation and lovely host! This guesthouse was so cute and the host really went out of his way to make my stay comfortable. The kitchen is amazing and there is free tea and coffee, and if you’re not wanting to venture out for a meal there’s noodle packets and snacks for a VERY cheap price! Common area is lovely and spacious :)

Wonderful host family and delicious dinner and breakfast. Very easy to walk about the town here, or simply soak in the comfortable hot bath. A highlight ryokan of our two weeks in Japan!
The owner was very warm and welcoming. They really tried their best to communicate and tell stories about the place and the facilities were amazing! Feels like living like locals and they even took us to the famous spots there. Can’t be more grateful for everything
staff are friendly. There are coffee and tea available in the morning. The room is small but cozy, minimalistic with sufficient amenities for your basic needs. Feels very much like a homestay & very affordable too.
A few minute walk going to Shirakawago Village itself. Perfect location for people who like walking to admire the vicinity and coming home to a homestay that is kind of secluded from the busy establishments.
