Ok, the weather played a bit tricks on us the first day. But even it redeemed itself with a beautiful rainbow at the end of the day. This really is a boutique hotel and is located in the quiet village of Lokev, but close to Trieste and to the Škocjan Caves, which was our primary destination. Lokev is small and quiet, but close to Divača where there is a train station and other services. The owners, Dajana and Boris, are two of the most delightful hosts we have ever met. And the chef prepares gourmet dinners that are a true highlight. The facility was well designed and spotless. The beds were really great and the bath was superb.

Featuring a sauna and a garden with an outdoor pool, Guesthouse Pri Mihelovih enjoys a quiet rural location a 10-minute drive from the Škocjan Caves and 13 minutes by car from the Lipica Stud. We stayed just for one night, but definately would stay longer. Breakfast was delicious, landlady very hospitable. It's only half an hour drive from Postojna Cave in a quiet vicinity. We enjoyed the quality of the room and morning coffee in the garden. Thank you!

Set in Dutovlje, within 19 km of Trieste Train Station and 20 km of Piazza Unità d'Italia, G House offers accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool as well as free private parking for guests... We loved our stay at G House. It was in a quiet area with beautiful surroundings (winery, pool). The room was very comfortable. We really enjoyed interacting with the staff. They were very kind and always available to answer any questions and had many recommendations. The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed doing their wine tasting as well.

Set within 26 km of Trieste Train Station and 27 km of Piazza Unità d'Italia, Vila Salamander offers rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Štanjel. We were staying only for a day for a wedding hosted bout 10 km away. The host was gracious and helped us out with the ride to the venue. Also, we loved the cat room, it was lovely.
