Set in Gretna, the recently renovated Kirkcroft Guest House offers accommodation 42 km from Thirlwall Castle and 17 km from Carlisle Railway Station. Christine and Tony made us feel so welcome, they were very friendly. Delicious home cooked breakfast, comfy beds and spacious room with tea coffee biscuits etc.

4.1 km from Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club in Dumfries, Kirkwirral Guest House - not self catering provides accommodation with access to a sauna and hot tub. Very friendly, super clean, fantastic decor, very high standard, bed was lovely and comfy, fab pillows! The hot tub was great, easy to book your slot/s, if like us it was a great start and end to a day. The hubby found the sauna to be an added bonus!! Fantastic seating areas by the river, very soothing to listen to the water rushing by, there is a lovely little summer house outside too, we would love to visit again in the summer. The biggest healthiest chickens in the front garden, don't forget to take them some grapes! Super breakfasts, and the smoothies were delicious, all in all not a bad thing to say about this fantastic little guest house!!

Corsewall Arms Guest House is situated in Stranraer and offers a terrace. We loved everything. We wish we were staying longer than 2 nights. The rooms were perfect, everything was so clean, the beds were comfy and the service from the owner was outstanding! Fresh cookies every day in the rooms, fresh milk served in mini milk canisters. The breakfast was perfect. Absolutely loved every minute of staying there.

Boasting a garden and views of garden, Moffat Independent Hostel is a guest house set in a historic building in Moffat, 34 km from Dumfries and County Golf Club. Victorian Building that balanced a modern room/ bathroom with authentic shared spaces and a full shared Kitchen. Super friendly host who was really helpful, we will be back.

Situated in Stranraer, in a historic building, 700 metres from Stranraer Beach, Thornbank House is a guest house with a fitness centre and indoor pool. Fiona is a great helpful, lovely and very friendly person and, the room we had was gorgeous in the design, spacious and with a wonderful view to the bay. The bathroom as well was wonderful with a big shower and a bath with Jacuzzi function. Fiona is offering an excellent service, thank you so much for everything.

The Harbour Inn features a garden, restaurant, a bar and tennis court in Garlieston. The property is non-smoking and is set a few steps from Garlieston Beach. The breakfast was delicious and eggs perfectly cooked!
