Recently restored 16 th. century house, built on the site of an ancient 11th Century Muslim Palace. Located in the centre of Toledo old town, near the Cathedral. Absolutely beautiful and very clean. Amazing location and incredibly helpful and friendly staff.

Toledo is a special place. Don't plan a one-day-visit. It would be a pity. We stayed four nights in this hostal. It is central and well located with a very personal touch thanks to the owner. He will inform you about everything you want to know about Toledo and will do the extra mile to help you. Because Toledo's streets are confusing he guided us through them to show us a nice place to have breakfast. Our room was all we needed: good beds, clean and quiet (even if it is right in the center). Just what you need to enjoy Toledo. Everything was fine about the hostal. We only struggled sometimes with the hilly and confusing street lay-out of Toledo, but that is something from the past and it is also the undeniable charm of the city. Just get lost and find out that you walked over 1 kilometer for something that was only 200 meters further.

Boasting mountain views, El Escudo de Calatrava features accommodation with patio, around 44 km from Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Guadalupe. Quaint and cosy atmosphere. Beautiful courtyard with nice places to sit. I parked my motorbike inside the secure courtyard. The homemade venison stew was excellent as was the breakfast with local produce. The hostess was was warm and friendly. It was the perfect overnight stay on my route up through Spain (N-502)
