The house is placed right next to the fortified church in Richiș. It's very clean and nicely renovated. Anna is very nice and explaied to us what we can visit.

We want to challenge EVERYTHING that the girls who gave a score of 1 said. We are two women walking Via Transylvanica. We disagree with everything that they say - and do not want people to be put off by their unfair criticisms. 1. The village is remote - wonderfully so. And if you do your research according to how you are travelling you can work that out for yourself and choose accordingly. It is located right on the Via so is perfect. 2. The village is lovely. Folks did look at us to say a cheery Hello. Let's not make judgements about "poor". Curiosity is natural if you have foreign tourists in your village. Exchanging a few words is part of travelling. 3. If you visit another country - and go remote do you really expect folks to speak your language? We communicated very effectively and had fun doing do with Google Translate. Part of being in a foreign country - and we as tourists should make the effort to learn useful words. 4. There was absolutely NO evidence that the owner wanted to enter our room. We were given total privacy. And if you are worried there is a lock on the door. 5. There was no smell and the room was clean 6. It didn't rain so cannot comment on leaks. We were not told we couldn't sit downstairs but anyway the upstairs terraces were lovely - and comfortable 7. We had lovely home cooked dinner and breakfast. Absolutely no effort was spared. She catered for vegetarian - and tried to accommodate gluten free ( polenta/ potatoes) which is not easy. It was excellent value 8. There was electricity and WiFi. The owners were lovely and welcoming. We were given a better room than we had booked. We felt totally safe all the time. It IS a nice place in a quiet village I don't understand how the girls can think reviews are by locals! You cannot write reviews if you have not stayed there.

It was an idyllic place, in which one can relax and rest in a countryside environment. Free parking. Good breakfast. Friendly owner and staff.

Food is absolutely delicious and the staff is very friendly. Horse riding classes were great for both the adults and kids. We will definitely come back.

The scenery is breathtaking, Sonnenhof is surrounded by hills and the property is taken care of. We got the triple room because we were travelling with a teenager, it was a generous room and everyone felt comfortable - we had enough space not to bump into one another. The bathroom was very practical and clean. It's a family business and everyone was kind and helpful. The highlight of the stay was the tarragon soup with smoked meat, a traditional dish in Transylvania which I particularly enjoyed after a long day. Also, the rhubarb cake was absolutely delicious. The property is surrounded by a vineyard and although they have a good selection of beverages, you can also order their white wine, adding a unique touch to your stay.

Very nice restoration of old Transylvanian household, trying to stay true to old crafts and materials. Had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Cristi in charge of restoration and get a detailed visit and account of work being done.
