For any fellow backpackers that are unsure about getting there, there's a local Willy jeep from Salento to Filandia (9500 COP one way, although if you're getting in late to Salento they could be sold out so just make sure not to get caught on that.) And then in Filandia there's a local Willy jeep that goes out to the road where the ranch is on. (3500 COP one way, photo with red circle is location). The local jeep runs every day making it easy to get into Filandia and explore.

Don Ricardo usually organizes trekkings in the nature with the dogs, really recommended! One of the best places I have ever been.

Beautiful, comfortable rooms and nice outdoor areas. The staff were lovely! It's in a beautiful, quiet setting.

Offering a garden and mountain view, Finca Cardonales is situated in Salento, 47 km from Ukumari Zoo and 36 km from Pereira's Botanical Garden. Everything! it was amazing 😻 we felt like we were in Encanto Movie, the staff and owners so lovely people.

It was a simple room and a little crowded, but we had five people staying in three beds and it is understandable. The grounds were very nice with a good pool and restaurant area. Some other guests were having a 15th birthday party for a girl (a significant event in Colombia) and kindly invited me to join them - I had a nice punch and piece of cake. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Colombian's are some of the most accommodating and gracious people I've encountered in my travels to 60 countries.
