It’s was extremely clean and beautiful. The apartment had everything you need for a ideal vacation on this special island. The owner was extremely kind and helpful. It might be the best accommodation option on Iriomote. I highly recommend it!

Situated in Iriomote and only 24 km from Ojima Road Park, Shimaotoya features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The hostel owner was so kind and helpful with our trip to Iriomote. She went above and beyond by picking us up from the ferry port and helping with recommendations. The room is simple, island accommodation but the shared common room is very nice with instruments and books. Kitchen was nice to use to make some food if we wanted. Extra fuzzy blankets free to use if you got cold in the night. Check out the stars at night! Also, FREE bike rental. What more could you want? Definitely check out the Co-op store down the street; delicious fresh food after 11am try the taco rice!!! We really loved Iriomote it was so peaceful and special. Our favorite island. Do visit and this hostel will serve you right!!

The kitchen was well stocked, organized, and great to cook in. They supply storage bins and a large refrigerator for guests. I liked the bath products.

The breakfast was different and delicious every morning. We got lots of useful tips from the owner and they have everything you need from snorkel gear to sun cream. We really really enjoyed it! We will go back for sure after winning another fortune in macao ;)

The pool areas are stunning and there is a sauna and hot tub as well. The restaurant food is five star - really interesting Mediterranean but with a Japanese twist. The room was incredibly spacious and had great facilities.
