Boasting a garden and views of garden, Abbey Court Guest House is a guest house set in a historic building in Carlisle, 38 km from Askham Hall. The location is only a 7-minute walk from the train station, the perfect place for a stop over. I was given such a lovely warm welcome. I found my room had everything I needed from a cold bottle of water in the fridge to a very comfortable bed. The room had modern functional decor, and a lot of thought had gone into the layout. I could relax and do a little work in the comfort of my room. The shower was spacious and greatly welcome after my train ride from Glasgow. What impressed me was how neat and prestine the room looked; it was immaculately clean. I knew someone had put love and care into this room to please their guests. Thank you. The evening was quite and pleasant. I enjoyed the full English breakfast, which gave me energy to face my next train ride the next day. I found every staff member thoughtful and friendly. It was a good experience. I highly recommend this B&B, and I will be back.

Located in Carlisle, The Halston Carlisle offers stylish self-catering accommodation with free WiFi access throughout. We were going to a wedding so needed to check in slightly earlier, they got us in just before check in which bought us a bit more time to get ready. Located in a perfect location within walking distance of a number of eating establishments Breakfast and staff were extremely helpful. Had a room on the top floor with a vertical spiral staircase. Ask for this room. Provided parking which was also a plus. The rate should have been higher as one could not ask for more. Would have paid more without a second thought.

Staff was excellent Ms Barbara at reception, Akhil at bar and this other gentleman who ushered us at lunch to our seats, the Chinese waitress at breakfast ....all amazing plus food surpassed anything ever had before.

A 5-minute drive from Bassenthwaite Lake, Ravenstone Manor is an 19th-century manor house set in 3 hectares of ground. The property is at the foot of Skiddaw, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. We stayed in Room 10. We loved the comfort, the view and the facilities. The breakfast was delicious

With beautiful views of the Northern Fells, Ravenstone Lodge is 5 miles from Keswick, at the foot of Ullock Pike so you can relax in the conservatory or on the terrace and enjoy some of the best Lake... Enjoyable stay. Bratt and James (the Chef) has gone all the way to ensure our stay was pleasant, and cater for our special dietary needs. The food was wonderful, and the view from the room and area is magnificent. The location also within walking distance to quiet Bassentwaite Lake, which is a nice picnic location (Bratt help to prepare quick sandwich for us to have picnic on the day of our arrival) Really had a good time there.
