Located on the Ile d’Oleron, the Hotel Île De Lumière offers direct access to the beach. It has an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court and many other facilities. The location is picture perfect, literally. It is on the western coast of the island, so if there is a sunset, you would see it. On our days, it was rainy, but that simply brought a different kind of beauty. The beaches were mostly empty - we had them to ourselves. There are several ways to get to the beach below, and all are an easy, short walk. Yet, the hotel is elevated, so you have a lovely view of the coastline. The room was light and airy, and very clean. There is plenty of storage space, and a nice shower with plenty of pressure. The bed was very comfortable, and there were room darkening curtains. The hotel was full when we were there, but it was still quiet. Breakfast is not included, but we found it to be worth the price. There was a lot of variety in the pastries offered, along with cheese, meat, boiled eggs, cereal, and fruit. We would recommend this place, and would stay again.

L'Hotel Family Golf està situat a la vora del mar, a la platja principal de Royan, i ofereix una vista panoràmica sobre la badia i el port. The staff and manager were exceptionally hospitable and friendly. They never stopped running around and taking care of everyone.

Set in Chevanceaux, in a historic building, 47 km from Patiras Island, The Little Robin is a recently renovated bed and breakfast with a garden and bar. Nice breakfast. Very quiet surroundings. Very clean.

A recently renovated apartment situated in Chauvigny, Gites De la Cour au Grenier features a garden. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are accessible at the apartment free of charge. The location is beautiful, and there is a roof garden with a beautiful vioew of the castle and medieval city; a real added bonus. The apartment is easy to find and easy to access, and the host lives close by and is responsive and helpful. The accommodation is very well appointed and comfortable. We look forward to returning and spending longer in this lovely city.

Set in La Mothe-Saint-Héray, 35 km from Niort Train Station, Mas des Gourmands offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Ilse & Dennis were wonderful hosts, and looked after us with great style. We opted for the 1/2 board package, and we're very impressed with both the breakfast and evening meal options. Our en suite room was lovely, and had a very comfortable bed, separate shower room and toilet facilities. There is a great variety of pets and livestock, giving a bustling feel to the property. We had booked in for 2 visits, either side of a trip down to Bordeaux, and would definitely return on another occasion.
