We stayed here with our teenage boys and loved it, a real oasis in the sand dunes -Beautiful pools and gardens -Table tennis, pool etc. -Great service for drinks/food -Excellent accommodation for families in 2-bedroom apartment

Hotel Luzeiros São Luis is just a short walk from Ponta do Farol Beach in São Luis. It has a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and bar in São Luís. The location: very safe to walk around, all taxi drivers knew well the address (and there is always a taxi stationed nearby, we travelled most times with Mr Auri, very attentive and careful driver), right at the seafront (but quite difficult to reach the beach), walking distance to excellent restaurants, delicatessen, pharmacy, coconut stand... The breakfast: great variaty and quality. The regional food was amazing. Just the breakfast make your stay worthy The swimming pool: we regretted not using it more. Good for chilling and for a few laps The staff: although very busy, always kind and efficient. Flávio Augusto upgraded us to a seaview room that was a really nice treat after travelling for 17h. The toiletries: lovely scents, great quality And they our suitcases when we went to Lençóis for a week

Facing the beachfront, Oiti Beach Resort Tutoia offers 4-star accommodation in Tutóia and has an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre and restaurant. It’s a beautiful luxury resort in a very affordable price. I love how private it is and how accommodating everyone was. We had access to the pool with a built in bar (!) and to the beach. There was live music (so romantic) in the evening. Our bungalow had an ocean view so we could wake up & watch the sunrise from the balcony - breathtaking. As I was driving to the property and passed very modest households, I had no idea that such a gem may be hidden in the area.

Boasting an outdoor swimming pool and views of city, Bangalô Dunas is a recently renovated guest house situated in Barreirinhas, 400 metres from Wharf. All the staff was very helpful, super nice and made our stay special! You feel like home, everything is super clean the location is the best, very close to the restaurants so you don’t need a car. Edson helped us with all the booking tours and that for sure made us have the best experience.

Featuring a balcony with river views, water sports facilities and a garden, Pousada Casa Dunas can be found in Barreirinhas, close to City Hall and 1.2 km from Wharf. This is a peaceful and relaxing setting on a quiet river. The host was very friendly and helpful. Micheal went out of his way to suggest places to eat within walking distance and directions. We do not speak Portuguese and Micheal was very patient while we communicated mostly with the google translator app. He also helped us after our transfer back to the airport didn't show and called the tour company and helped us straighten out the situation.

Set in Barreirinhas, 1.1 km from Wharf, Hostel Flor de Ipê offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. Stayed here only to visit Lençóis Maranhenses. All staff members were really nice. Cute cats and a puppy also there to welcome you. The pods are big enough and the beds are comfortable. Was happy to have a hot shower after a day in the lagunes.

Set in Atins and only 100 metres from Atins Beach, Atins Beach Chalés offers accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Very beautiful, great location, friendly stuff

Pousada Lanea Experience features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and bar in Atins. The 5-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom and free WiFi. We liked everything. Beautiful guest house, the rooms well equiped , very clean and nicely decorated. The room was spacious with 2 balconies and jacuzzi, very comfortable bed and a really huge sofa bed. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of opcions to choose. Coffee available during the day.. A voucher for a drink for each gast upon arrival. Pick up service from the port and transfer from and to the pousada during the whole stay included in the price. The whole staff really nice and helpful. The host is a great man, so friendly and willing to help, Puting a big efort to find the best opcion of trips, transfers for each guest. We highly recomend it. It is the kind of places it is really hard to leave :)
