Really cool old colonial building with nice high ceilings. There was a lot of space in the room and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The water was hot and good pressure in the shower too.

This place is a gem! Such a good value. The place is fresh and clean. No frills, but all that you need. Honestly the BEST shower that I had the entire time I was in Peru! The staff were friendly and accommodating. As soon as I got in I dropped my laundry at the front desk and they had it cleaned and folded for me by the next morning and it was only about 10 Sol, which was wonderful! I'm so glad that I found the Fitzcarrald and will definitely stay again the next time I am in Iquitos!

Very clean, comfy beds, air conditioning and hot shower was particularly great after being in the jungle. Also amazing location. And the hosts - chip was amazing! So helpful! Organized a last minute market tour, provided laundry recommendations, and provided great info for restaurants and the area in general. He even had a couple of yoga mats. And the sweetest dogs!

We needed a place close to the airport to spend the day because our flight was not til the evening. Host was very accomodating providing us with a cool room with multiple beds. We also had access to a lovely pool with chaise lounges and hammocks. Host also provided transport to the airport which was much appreciated.

Staying at this family-run hotel in Iquitos was a truly special experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed by Pablo and his family, whose kindness and hospitality are unforgettable. The property is perfectly situated away from the hustle and bustle of town, offering a peaceful retreat with fresh air and breathtaking views of the Amazon River and jungle. The hammocks overlooking the river became our favorite spot to relax and watch the sunset — an experience that felt magical. The rooms are simple, with rustic wooden finishes that give an authentic local feel. Pablo went above and beyond to make our stay seamless, from helping with our bags to driving us to the airport at 5 a.m. with a smile. It’s rare to find this level of care in hospitality, and it truly made our stay unforgettable. If you’re looking for an immersive, local experience with heartwarming family hospitality, this place is it.

We booked with the Amazon Oasis Floating Lodge for two nights. It was important for us to experience the Amazon Jungle while in Peru and we are so grateful we made this a priority. After a week of altitude sickness, intense hiking, inability to eat any food or get a decent sleep while backpacking the Peruvian Andes, our stay at this lodge was exactly as the name implies… an oasis. We had the best sleeps of our trip here as we slept to the noises of the Amazonian wildlife and were calmly rocked to sleep by the river. The home cooked meals that you can order from the menu at any time before 8pm were some of the best meals I ate while in Peru, which says a lot considering how remarkable Peruvian food is. The food was very fresh (caught that day) and they were able to provide refreshments of all kinds by request. The two brothers that own and run the lodge were able to take us for a couple of tours at our request. Some of their family members came along for the ride which was awesome. We shared some great laughs with the family even though we didn’t speak Spanish and they didn’t speak English. They were such welcoming people. They even brought us to see pink dolphins while we watched the sunrise. To the family, this was another day living on the Amazon river, but to us, we were submersed into their culture, and we were able to glimpse into their way of life. We felt welcomed by every family member we met. Our stay was comfortable in every capacity (but don’t forget the bug spray - this is needed). They were accommodating at picking us up from the airport and making sure we returned on time to make our next flight. As other reviews say, the wifi isn’t the strongest, but it is there when you need it and honestly, while you read a book, lounging on the hammock, listening to the birds sing - wifi is the last thing you will be thinking about. I highly recommend booking your stay here if you want a clean, comfortable, accommodating environment with genuine Amazonian culture.

The owner and his sons are terrific. cool air con. Firm yet comfortable beds. Great location. Ask for a room in the back of the project so you dont have any street noise on a Friday or Saturday night. The breakfast is very good...its made to order and the coffee is excellent. Its Britt!
