The hotel is in a beautiful rural area. The hotel itself is old fashioned in a nice way, I can see why people have weddings there, the function area flows really well with a lovely terrace overlooking the Mendip hills. The staff we spoke to were all really friendly and nice.

Breakfast was very good! Great choice - buffet style breakfast, local produce and perfectly cooked. Great selection of cereals, pastries and yoghurt too. Pool was also lovely - a reasonable temperature and adult only or family friendly sessions available. Sessions need booking but this just means it isn't busy. Room and bathroom was spotless!

We arrived very early on the morning after a late flight into Bristol. The night porter was ready for us and so a speedy check in and straight to bed. Very comfortable, spacious and clean family room. Slept well until the 11am check out.

Restaurant was very child friendly and good selection of food. Not too busy either. Loved the swimming pool, having to book beforehand meant it was never overcrowded and free towels was a very useful bonus.

The room was adequate and clean. I would describe it as functional rather than having any 'wow' factor, but this partly due to the age and layout of the main building. On the plus side, this did make a nice change from modern 'box' hotels. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the bar area was particularly pleasant. Breakfast was very good. The free parking and proximity to the M5, whilst not being right next to it was also very good.

Helpful restaurant staff let us eat bar food in restaurant as no space left in bar area. Pool. Family 'room' with child sleeping in separate room round corner. Compfy bed. Decent telly. Bath. Tea/biscuits provided. Gym looked great but didn't get to use it.

Its a big spacious hotel with lots of character. We loved the included swimming pool session which was child friendly too. Nice breakfast, great view across the countryside from the bar area.
