The hotel itself is old fashioned in a nice way, I can see why people have weddings there, the function area flows really well with a lovely terrace overlooking the Mendip hills. The staff we spoke to were all really friendly and nice.

Great selection of cereals, pastries and yoghurt too. Pool was also lovely - a reasonable temperature and adult only or family friendly sessions available. Sessions need booking but this just means it isn't busy. Room and bathroom was spotless!

The night porter was ready for us and so a speedy check in and straight to bed. Very comfortable, spacious and clean family room. Slept well until the 11am check out.

I would describe it as functional rather than having any 'wow' factor, but this partly due to the age and layout of the main building. On the plus side, this did make a nice change from modern 'box' hotels. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the bar area was particularly pleasant. Breakfast was very good.
