At Port-en-Bessin, situated between the D-day landing beaches and the town of Bayeux in the heart of historic Normandy, stands the charming 18th century Chateau La Chenevière.

Beautifully decorated, with a very comfortable bed, and excellent shower. Our host was the most delightful lady who provided an lovely continental breakfast for us.
The host also has a super restaurant on the harbourside which fed us with quality and good value.

As families grow in size, so too do the needs of a family holiday. That’s why family hotels are set up to cater for all ages, from toddlers and kids to teens and adults. Typically, you can expect restaurants with kids’ menus, games rooms, fitness centres and a pool area where children can play and parents can relax.
Nice and well-organized accommodation. Nice pool areas and handy food trucks for both breakfast and dinner. Easy parking. This is a perfect place for families discovering the area.
The house with 2 bedrooms and a lounge room was partially original 1950s and partially renovated (bedrooms, appliances). The large kitchen was functional with lots of utensils and crockery, but dated with badly chipped enamel sink. Everything worked, though. Large fridge. I only used the main bedroom with a good mattress. Lost of books (in French) and all sort of games. Private parking in the front yard, basically 150m from the town centre. 2x 2 seater sofas in lounge were very nice to sit on.
The perfect location in this charming but fully functioning fishing small town, it’s on the 2nd floor and overlooks the harbour and out to sea. You can watch the scallops boats coming in and out, and the little apartment is above a very cafe & simple restaurant, a few yards the town’s supermarket and and surrounded by other bars, restaurants and shops, and on Sunday’s at the head of the street market.
Superb location, so much to explore in the area even if you are not interested in the Normandy landings, lovely feel to the place, facilities were good, these Pierre & Vacances resorts are such good value and pitched so well for family holidays. The local port should not be overlooked and has a great market.
We were happy with the location and the type of accommodation. The children had plenty to keep them entertained: playground, ping pong, petanque, swimming pool and lots of games - ball games as well as board games
The staff were very helpful. We thought the pool facilities were excellent, both indoor and outdoor, which our children loved. The breadman came every morning selling the best croissants and baguettes and a pizza trailer came twice a week. One night, the resort organised a band and local vendors, selling beer and oysters, which was fantastic.
the pool area and playground were very well kept and fun for our family. we traveled with 2 adults and 3 children (6,6,3). the location was close to Normandy sights, but a car is still a must in the area. free parking on site, pizza food truck was good on Friday night.
