JR Morioka Train Station is a 25-minute drive from the property. breakfast was amazing service amazing everything amazing i forgot to specify the fact that i don’t eat pork and i’m sorry for wasting a dish 😔

Boasting a natural hot spring bath with a gorgeous lake view, Hotel Shion offers both Japanese-style rooms with traditional futon bedding and Western rooms with beds. Beautiful quiet location by the lake easy to get to from Morioka. Very clean well maintained facilities including several beautiful onsens. The staff was kind and accommodating despite my very limited Japanese language understanding. I loved the view of the lake and Mount Iwate from my room.

A traditional old Japanese getaway. I was personally received at the bus stop and escorted all the way to my room. I received a high floor room with an incredible view. You will get the best experience but be prepared with the Japanese etiquette. English is available but basic Japanese can make life easier. The Onsen water is unique and has a distinctive smell. It is very big with indoor and beautiful outdoor area.
