It is an easy walking distance from all the specialty shops in this lovely little traditional town. The staff were very helpful and collected us from the bus stop. The highlight of this property is the variety of hot spring baths you can enjoy and many of them are private so you can have them all to yourself without needing a reservation. The outdoor bath at night was amazing under the autumn foliage with the steam floating above the hot water. It was like a dream. The breakfast was delicious with very generous portions. I think this is the best Hotel to stay at in Kurokawa onsen

Kurokawa Onsen Yama-jarðböðin no Yado Shinmeikan er með 5 hveraböð, þar á meðal 30 metra langt hellabað. The osen experience is unique. We did the cave and the open-air osen. The old building, and the open-fire grill for dinner, the beef, etc... It is right next to the river and it is in the center of the town. Very conveniently located. A lot of tourists take selfies in front of the buildings so it is a destination on its own.

Located in the centre of Kurokawa Onsen, Oyado Noshiyu offers outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, Japanese-style accommodations and a traditional teahouse. Best meal service I ever had. 板橋-Chan was so helpful even she is not fluent in English. She even took care of my mum who has allergy.

Our stay at Fumoto Ryokan was absolutely incredible. The staff did a fantastic job throughout our stay and making sure every detail of the trip was just perfect. Our room had a wonderful view of the adjacent river and was so comfortable and spacious - a nice change of pace after traveling Japans big cities. Even as a very tall guy, they provided me with an appropriate Yukuta and I could enjoy the onsen experience in full. The baths themselves are amazing - both the shared outdoor one and the private bath rooms. There are plenty of the latter, so if you prefer your privacy you‘ll have plenty of options, some of them even with outdoor views. Then there is the food. The courses are absolutely delicious and so plentiful, that we found ourselves struggling to finish all of it sometimes. The quality of the dishes and the presentation is so high, the (not cheap) room price seems very reasonable in hindsight. To sum it up: this was a 10/10 experience and we can’t wait to come back someday.

Boasting spacious indoor and outdoor hot spring baths surrounded by lush greenery, Ryokan Wakaba provides Japanese-style accommodation in the peaceful mountain area. I cannot praise it enough! The staff were beyond helpful and interested in making our time there memorable! The food was absolutely amazing, the design- fully traditional Japanese, the baths really comfy! Hopefully I will have a chance to stay again!
