Located in the Utsukushigahara hot-spring area, Hotel Shoho offers Japanese and Western accommodation with mountain views. Shoho was beautiful and well appointed. The staff were warm and the hospitality was some of the best we experienced in Japan.

Momoyama is situated in the Utsukushigahara Onsen district of Matsumoto, 6.3 km from Matsumoto Station, 8.6 km from The Japan Ukiyo-e Museum and 34 km from Canora Hall. Momoyama is nestled in the hills above Matsumoto. We stopped in at the Information kiosk at the train station and they called Momoyama and we were able to get a shuttle up to the hotel . Which is good because it was probably an hours walk away . The location is gorgeous . The hotel is a traditional ryokan . We both had a wonderful bath in the hot springs / onsen . Then a traditional dinner was served to us in our room . 8 courses , each unique and delicious . Our beds were made for us and we settled into a wonderful nights sleep . In the morning we had a wonderful breakfast in their reception area overlooking the city .. It was one of our best stays in Japan !

Boasting various indoor and outdoor hot spring baths, Izumiya Zenbe is a historical Japanese-style accommodation with a chic ambiance, established in 1876. It was a super nice stay, we loved the dinner and the staff super friendly.

Set just 5.5 km from Matsumoto Station, Hotel New Kotobuki features accommodation in Matsumoto with access to an open-air bath, a garden, as well as a lift.

Situated in Matsumoto, 5.5 km from Matsumoto Station, Marunaka Ryokan provides accommodation with a hot spring bath and a public bath. We felt like home, lovely hosts and definitely worth visiting for a real Japanese experience. Thank you for the pleasant stay.
