The fact that this houseboat is gorgeous with all the intricate cedarwood carvings, perfectly adorned interiors coupled with an amazing view of the mighty Himalayas doesn't even begin to describe why I'm in love with this place. As soon as we reached the dock, we were greeted by an entourage of staff and were seated in the houseboat Front Area with a nice hot cup of Kahwa and assorted cookies. The owner personally greeted us and as we spoke about our trip,we instantly knew we were going to enjoy every bit of our experience in the houseboat. The owner spoke to us for a good hour about his travels and experiences about the world and personally made sure we were taken care of with a scrumptious Kashmiri dinner. The chef also delivered on our dessert request. The staff were so polite and welcoming and took care of our every need no matter what. There's something to say about the hospitality & extreme kindness of the Kashmiri people and this place definitively deserves an award for the best hospitality ever. I definitely recommend this place, not just for the experience of staying in a luxurious and well maintained houseboat, but for everything in between. I promise your heart will be full of love for the people of Kashmir and you'll want to come back for more because of how well the owner and the staff take care of you at the Hayat Group of Houseboats 🚢⛵!

Located 8.3 km from Shankaracharya Mandir, Movie land group of house boats offers 4-star accommodation in Srinagar and features free bikes, a garden and a terrace. Stayed at Javid's boat hotel for three nights - an incredible experience. It looks like a floating apartment with its own living room, kitchen, two bedrooms and an outside terrace for launch. We seek a family room for four - 2 teenagers and parents. The kids were a bit afraid to stay alone for the first day, so we were looking for a room with two beds as a matter of principle. All as on a photo in booking.com: clean, neat, well equipped with everything needed— shampoo, soap, towels, air conditioning, bottled water, a full set of tableware and refrigerator in the kitchen. The interior is an Indian luxurious style with everything is hand-carved, the whole boat is richly decorated, the floor is carpeted. Very tasty breakfast, I especially recommend Kashmiri kava. The owner has honoured every your request - organized a comfortable car to pick us from the airport, made the boat towards the night market at 4:30 am, took us for a boat-drive along the narrow canals, organized a transfer to Lamayuru. We’ve just sightseeing around and enjoyed our vacation. At my request, Javid taught me how to make real Kashmiri kava, bought all the ingredients needed - now I do not have a mixture from a tourist store, but cinnamon, coriander, saffron and tea separately (I will buy ginger in Moscow). Javid with wife and kid live in the neighborhood, so he invited me to his house and showed in what proportions to crush, cook the locals prepare kawa. He is a very generous and kind man, lived in Japan for many years, speaks excellent English and at the same time was born in Kashmir and continues his father's work. It was a pleasure to spend time at his boat. Will miss already this days.

Our time in the Houseboat Wild Rose was a wonderful experience full of nice moments with our lovely Host-Family, great food from Kashmere and if course the beautiful nature of Dal Lake with all it's Eagles, Kingfishers (the bird ;D), Lotusplants and many more! Our Highlight was a 7 day Trekkingtour in the Himalaya with Faizan (our Host Jr.) where we saw not just some amazing mountains but also the life of the local people there.
