The room and bathroom were immaculate and beautiful!! Loved the simple, elegant design—soothing colors and textures, lovely sheets and pillows…I loved everything about it! The kettle and tea, pretty mugs and glasses were nice too. It was probably the nicest room I’ve ever had at a hotel—and I’ve stayed at five star hotels all over the world. It was perfect! The breakfast was amazing too!! So much variety and such high quality. Very nice staff! Great location! I would highly recommend this hotel!!

The Tanne is located in the heart of Wernigerode and served as a rest stop/inn for carters, horse-riding messengers and servants of Wernigerode Castle as early as 1753. Comfortable beds, amazing shower, great location and tasty breakfast. Couldn’t ask for more. Thank you!

Friendly and professional staff. The radio in the bathroom was a nice addition.

Situated on the edge of Wernigerode’s Old Town and close to the railway station, this 3-star superior hotel stands within walking distance of the world-famous town hall, the castle and the... Staff was very freindly and helpful, location was absolutely super, had an excellent stay.

My family really enjoyed the stay in this hotel. Modern, clean and comfortable, with amazing view from our window to the city and castle. Friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast. Central location. City parking right next to the hotel. Special thanks for the baby bed, although it was not supposed to be offered. I highly recommend.

This 3-star hotel offers spacious rooms and health facilities. It is located in the centre of Wernigerode, in the northern Harz Mountains. Very nice hotel with great stuff! The view from the balcony in our room was amazing. It’s located in the city centre and there is a bus stop just nearby where you can take the sightseeing tour to the castle and around the city.

Este hotel 4 estrelas superior combina design moderno e decoração de época, na histórica Praça do Mercado. I'm giving this location 10 stars because I feel like Europeans would find it so - it's a cultural thing as an American to expect different levels of comfort. However, I found our room to be rather cramped and the last room on the top floor, the furthest away from the lobby in what might have originally been the attic - the windows were dormered. The beds were spartan in that sleeping on them was like sleeping on stone. My hips began aching by the third day. The pillows were meager, half size. I had to ask twice before they brought us some extras but in the hotel's defense, my German is deplorable, so it's quite possible I couldn't make myself understood. The bathroom was pretty much the same as any hotel in the US, very small - the bathtub and shower felt like bathing in a coffin. I feel like many of these complaints wouldn't bother most Europeans: they're tougher than Americans are at this point. So I didn't really dock the hotel any points on my ratings for the uncomfortable aspects of the rooms. The breakfast was amazing, and my son and I really enjoyed it every morning. The hotel was perfectly located. We're not Christmas people, so when we booked we had thought the location would be rather empty but to our surprise it was Christmas Market and teeming with people. The parking situation was overly complicated and rather expensive in my mind (16 euros per day) but once again, American coming into a situation with expectations that are probably culturally inappropriate. The bar was nice and relatively affordable and Andreas the bartender was a highlight.
