China Hotel, located at the heart of Guangzhou’s tourism culture, is just steps away from two iconic parks, Yue Xiu Park and Liu Hua Lake Park, providing a peaceful atmosphere for all leisure as well... I was very impressed with my overall experience, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay. Right from check-in to check-out, everything was excellent. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. My room was clean and spacious, and it had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was biiiig and comfortable, the bathroom was clean and well-appointed, and the room was well-lit and had plenty of outlets. The hotel offered a variety of amenities, including a pool, fitness center, and business center. I had breakfast at the restaurant every morning of my stay, and it was delicious. Being a vegetarian I was a bit skeptical initially if I would find something to eat. But to my surprise, the buffet had various options, including fresh fruits, yogurt, cereal, tea/coffee. Fruits were so tasty. The staff at the hotel were excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and they went out of their way to make sure that I had a comfortable stay. I would like to give special thanks to Mr. Burt Li, who helped me by lending 15RMB for my taxi fare as I did not have Chinese currency with me at that time, which I later paid him back. He did not hesitate even for a second to help me, though I was completely unknown to him. Overall an excellent place to stay.

Guangzhou Hotel - Haizhu Square metrostation & close to Beijing road ligger i Guangzhou, mindre end 1 km fra Perlefloden og 1,8 km fra Huaisheng-moskeen. The 2022 renovation was super classy and most importantly, functional. Things just work. You have a wide enough bathroom countertop, it's spacious, the light switches are labeled in both Chinese characters and English. I've stayed in many well-known American chain hotels where they renovate in a way so that everything is just sleek. So sleek it's hard to figure out how to turn on the bedside lamp because it doesn't have a switch, it's a touch sensor. And it seems like all the major hotel chains are jumping on the same dumb trend. Not at the Guangzhou Hotel. It's modernized, but still remembers its roots. For example, the elevators have a wall decoration that says "27 floors" which is a nod to its nickname when it first opened. Modern, classy, and not at all generic. The view over the river from the top floors was the coolest view in town back in the day, so much that families would go to a photo studio to get their family pics taken in front of a photo of the view. The Guangzhou Hotel has not forgotten its place in the history and identity of Guangzhou. The AC is super responsive and works really well. It's also very clean, which just elevates your stay so much more. Also a bus to/from Hong Kong (including a direct bus to/from HKIA) stops literally at the front door. The ticket office is in the lobby. Extremely convenient. The location cannot be beat. Right above Exit E at the Haizhu Square Subway Station, across from great shopping at BinBin, great food all around, great views, etc.

The suite was very well appointed, and staff was excellent, especially Victoria from Housekeeping, who left us extra bottles of water when she saw our supplements and left us a nice note, as well as Fletcher at the Dining Room who was very helpful in putting together a small take away breakfast.
