However, we didn’t realise we had such a big accommodation. So much room and so much history in this beautiful house. We had a four poster bed! It’s very much furnished in the Cape Dutch style of the 1800s and quite breathtaking! Downton Abbey in the Cape! This is self catering and everything you need is here for a comfortable stay. ours was three nights but would have loved a week here. The garden surrounding the house is so beautiful - an amazing sight to wake up to. There are outside cooking facilities as well as inside and we made use of both. Sadly our age stopped us from exploring the hiking trails but highly recommended, either walk or bike.

The attention to detail of the owners and staff is outstanding. Breakfast was a feast with food to awaken your taste buds. The rooms had every extra you could wish for.

I was lucky enough to celebrate my birthday here, and the host, JP and the team, went above and beyond to make it special. The location is perfect, with everything from restaurants and grocery stores to the Franschhoek Wine Tram just a stone’s throw away. Highly recommend and will definitely return whenever I visit Franschhoek again!
