We used it as a place to sleep and left first thing in the morning. There are no windows - so it is not for everyone. The outdoor lounge area is a nice place to hang out and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The view from the roof top bar (sunsets) and proximity to the ferry terminal are bonuses.

I really liked the 2 people dorms that almost feel like a private room and I loved the general atmosphere of guests getting together in the common area while having a meal cooked in the kitchen. The owner cares about the propriety and the guests and this make a big differnce.

Close to town and easy to walk to waterfront and market. All amenities were very clean and tidy. We loved the cats that came to visit us too. The view to the mountains was fabulous. We highly recommend Heiata's Lodge and would stay there again.
