The town is very easily layed out and full of history.
The town is very easily layed out and full of history. Guided and unguided tours are available to visit the war that took place in the area. The richness in history and facts are felt throughout town. Not many restaurants available. Ensure that you do visit the area and plan enough time to visit at least two war sites.

Ladysmith is a great stopping off point between Johannesburg and Durban and has the excellent Nambiti Game reserve and the battlefields close by. Not sure I would want to walk the streets at night but it has all the shopping that you may want. The Coffee Pot is an excellent café with good food and drink and great service.AAnonymousUnited Kingdom

Sisters Leeche and Chey are wonderful hosts and looked after us very well. The location is quiet and peaceful, with nice views over the surrounding countryside. The rooms are comfortable and clean and all the staff are very friendly. Breakfast is nice, with a good selection of hot and cold food. We will certainly stay here again when in Ladysmith. Great value!!
