I would stay here every time if I have the chance to visit Knysna again. Nico (the owner) is very welcoming and has a good humour. The view is spectacular and you have a 180 degree view of the ocean. I only booked this place to hear the waves crash when I sleep and I was pleasantly surprised with more than I had expected of this place!

Lovely accommodation very clean and spacious, stunning views of the sea from the patio. Lovely gesture of a bottle of wine lots of tea and coffee and home made rusks. BBQ coals were provided and has a large weber on the patio which was clean and very welcome. Hoists were very welcoming and helpful. There were no negatives, other than wishing we could have stayed longer. Would highly recommend. The beach was very close which is a blue flag beach.

I liked everything about the property, the ocean views from our bedroom and patio were beautiful, there was everything we needed, the villa was functional it felt like home. It's a perfect location and real value for money as we spotted some dolphins and whales everyday. The big TV and lounge area are perfect, wifi worked well, rooms are spacious and I liked the dishwasher machine. The detailed instructions all over the house, the communication before arrival and during our stay was amazing. We didn't want to leave 🥺😭we will be back with our families soon❤

From the get-go I had issues.

From the get-go I had issues. First, I had to "upgrade at R800 for the 2 nights" for a sea view, then the door did not lock from the outside and the lady at reception handed me a spare key informing me that I NEED TO HAND IT BACK so that the cleaners can use it. Then I could not leave for dinner because the lock up garage remote did not work. Booked for breakfast at 08h00. No one informed me where I will have my breakfast. At 08h00 I waited at reception for 15min plus then decided to leave and attend to urgent business. The gentleman who assisted with the remote was a champ though.

Our host Cheryl is really wonderful and attentive, and has gone to great lengths to make the accommodation very comfortable. We visited Brenton during late April which is very quiet and thoroughly enjoyed the comfort of the accommodation, the tranquility and quietness and the wildlife offerings. Brenton on Sea is just up and over the road from Brenton on Lake, which is also really lovely to visit and take a long walk on the beach.

If you are looking for somewhere to relax and take beach...

If you are looking for somewhere to relax and take beach walks away from the hustle and bustle then Brenton on Sea is the place. I have never been over the December holidays (I imagine it might get busier over this period) but during February when I've been to Brenton, its not too busy and the weather is pleasant. Knysna is a 10-15 min drive away

What a nice surprise was awaiting us when we arrived at Brenton-on-Sea chalets: the chalets are located right at the end of the village, so only dunes to see next to the accommodation and the sea is immediately accessible walking through them. What an incredible view of a pristine beach, all the way to Buffel’s Bay! The chalet has a great balcony to enjoy this beautiful setting while having a nice sundowner. Inside, everything is perfectly clean and quality material is used throughout. We will be back! Absolutely recommended.

Booked a garden view room but luckily a cancellation offered the chance for an upgrade to a sea view room for a small extra fee. This was a way better room and well worth the extra money. Location of the hotel is brilliant, right on the cliff with full sea view. See the dolphins play in the waves. Sand beach right below the property that apparently no one knows about, so feels like private beach. Sea view room was perfect size for two. Very friendly staff!
