Everything about this experience was top level. The staff, accommodation and facilities were first class. Special mention for our guide Marco, who made our stay exceptional, as he took our group out on safari and gave us a little insight into the wonders of Sanbona, the Little Karoo and the animals that make it their home. Thank you, from a Kiwi couple who will always have fond memories of our "all too brief" stay.

Barrydale has some quirky little shops, coffee shops and a very interesting African art museum and curio shop. Everything closes at 4 p.m. along the main road, so the Karoo Art Hotel is a good choice for dinner. It was nice seeing Barrydale, but it is small enough to do within a couple of hours.AAnonymous - Scored 8.08.0
Quaint little town on the well-known Route 62.
Quaint little town on the well-known Route 62. The main activity at the moment seems to be as one enters the town from the east, and the brandy tasting and weaving mills are definitely worth a visit. The only problem for now is that the main road is being resurfaced, but once this is complete the centre of the town will again be much more attractive. The beautiful surrounding mountains and scenery in the meantime are good compensation, as are several interesting shops. The people in Barrydale are super friendly and welcoming. We stopped at a few of the local stores and were always greated with smiles and hearty hello's. Antiques at Papa Joe's Trinkets at LA Kroo Crafts Milkshakes at Diesel and Creme Cheesecake at Camel Horse Cafe and Hake and chips at the Karoo Lodge Are just some of the delights this little town has to offer.Ellis - Scored 8.08.0

Coffee , charcuterie style platter , wine tasting and cheese , cold meats at Joubert Tradauw winery, and a MTB trip with brandy / Gin tasting at METANOIA Distillery. Good South African hospitality, a mixture of quaint , strange , unique, artistic , winelands , brandy , wine tasting , outdoors , majestic scenery , security, safe, good roads on Route 62 , great picnic spots , easy access and outdoor activities in vineyards , fruit plantations , and more

A beautiful town with so much to explore.
A beautiful town with so much to explore. For tourists s longer stay is advisable to see everything this lovely place has to offer. But it also offers perfect overnight stops when passing through. We recommend Barrydale Karoo Lodge. With an in-house pub and restaurant, you need nothing more.
