Econo Lodge, hotel in Newport

Econo Lodge Newport Smoky Mountain, Tennessee is nestled in the hills of Newport, just off Interstate 40.

Carpets throughout were filthy as well as stuffed chair in the room. The ceiling was stained badly. The a/c didn't work properly. The phone didn't work. The toilet stopped up & I either had to wait 15 minutes to have a plunger delivered or go to the front desk to retrieve myself.

Poppy’s Place Cabin, hotel in Newport

28 miles from Dollywood in Dandridge, Poppy’s Place Cabin features accommodations with access to a hot tub. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking, and free Wifi.

The view is incredible and a true mountain cabin. Three king beds each with its own roomy bathroom. Two (one main level, one lower) wrap around decks. The lower level game room is a huge plus. TVs in the game room, each bedroom, and the living room and good service. Our pet was allowed, the entire cabin was well stocked, and there were several special extras. The 40-50 drive to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg is very tolerable since you’re going to spend several hours at each destination.

Chasing Views Tiny House, hotel in Newport

Chasing Views Tiny House offers accommodations in Dandridge, 19 miles from Dollywood and 19 miles from The Grand Majestic Theater.

Chasing Views tiny house is perfectly situated for beautiful mountain views. The house has everything we needed and more. The bed sleeps very comfortably. The tv has an antenna connection that can access several channels but I was also able to tether my phone to it for a wifi connection so we could stream Hulu, Netflix, and other apps. We visited during a time of year when the weather goes from hot to cold day to day. The air condition and heating unit worked very well and quickly. Will stay again for sure!

The city is much larger than I thought.

The city is much larger than I thought. It has many modern and urban places. Many large chains, and some good local places. We had ice cream at The Creamery, it was very, very good! The Wal-Mart was a good size. We had dinner at Arby's one night and it was clean and good. One night we had Papa John's and it was also good. The fuel prices were comparable to the rest of the area. Signage was good and GPS was correct, which can be an issue when traveling. I would have liked to travel and visit more places while there, there were plenty of things to look at.

So be prepared to be scammed. 1 the cabin is located on a steep mountain with unpaved road when rains road is sketchy. 2. No room for boat. People who rent camper at end of drive agreed of location and that they should have disclosed that in details. 3 Guys the property owner sent was telling him same thing about road and they was going to work with him on refund. 4 gave partial refund and kept cleaning fee. I never stayed a night there. So if you like taring your 4x4 to get to this cabin go for it. When I had to back down this road. My boat drug me down the hill it was so steep. Booking.com said they couldn't do nothing. So the heck with them and the heck with this Foreigner who owns this cabin on top of a mountain that only 4wd can get to. I wish I could post the pic of the drive so people could see it. I guarantee people be like nope! don't let the pics they took on here fool you. not even close.

This is a nice motel. It appeared to be clean.

This is a nice motel. It appeared to be clean. They do have an elevator that worked perfectly. It is very close to I-40 and it is behind a little convenience store/truck stop that is open all night so you can get snacks if you need to. The person who checked me in was nice, but not overly friendly. That was fine with me. The TV was small, and I had trouble seeing the show that I watched. The bed was just barely comfortable enough for me to get a half decent night's sleep. The pillows were way too small IMO. I don't know if they have any breakfast since I left at 5:30 AM, however there was no coffee in the coffee dispenser at that time. This is the second time I have stayed here. The first time I paid on an app, then the motel clerk charged me again for the stay. I got a refund with the help of the booking service, but it was a hassle. The extra charge was not entered on the night I stayed, but it was entered a few days later. The reason I noticed it right away is that I am a travelling salesman and I knew I was somewhere else on the date the extra charge was entered. Take from that what you will.

    Very ran down.

Very ran down. We ate at Ruby Tuesday’s in front of our hotel. It was not good at all. We both got steak that we were told was sirloin but it was paper thin and overcooked. The restaurant itself appeared old and not very clean. There isn’t much to do in Newport. The whole town just gave me the feel of “dirt”. As if the entire town needed a good bath and fresh paint.

The room was clean, spacious and comfortable.

The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Morning breakfast was adequate...hot coffee, oj, muffins, waffles...more than enough to get the day started. Receptionist was friendly and courteous. Great stay for the price.

Breakfast is muffins, fruit, yogart etc in a bag due to Covid. Hotel needs some updating but is always clean and allows pets which is a big plus! The hotel is also close to the interstate/convenient.

Everything was great. Was nice to have Ruby Tuesday so close for dinner, and drinks. I knew the hotel used to have a bar within the building, but no longer so that was key to my stay.
