We spent two weekends here (the week between was spent at home) for an horno building workshop at Trails End Gallery, which has the most wonderful artists and artwork! Everyone we met there was a gem and we'll definitely be coming back for 1st Friday's. It was really cool, super fun and informative. The cities gorgeous and surprisingly chill. Everywhere we went the food was fantastic! We recommend Casa el Camino in La Mesa, a Bite of Belgium, Santorini's, and Chaves.

We love La Mesilla and spend much of trip time there.
We love La Mesilla and spend much of trip time there. Its restaurants are our favorites in the area. We also really enjoy the COAS bookstore. Las Cruces has museums, scenic views, and picturesque neighborhoods.
Getting around Las Cruces is not complicated, although a map is advisable. People are friendly and will provide directions if needed.
As is true of many places, Las Cruces has a visible population of unhoused people, and we were unable to discern what is being done to help them.

It would have been appreciated if we were told that the hotel is in a high crime area with many homeless people in the surrounding area. After our luggage was stolen and we looked around the area by ourselves we found the adjacent property was frequented by homeless people and one very nice local business owner (that assisted us in our search) said the crime in the area was high and there has been many homeless people wandering around the area.
The desk clerk was not helpful at all and was asked several times about video footage which she said there was none and when told we saw cameras in the area she then said maintenance has footage but we don't.

The hotel was terrible, service was terrible, they advertise a breakfast but didnt have it and according to other reviews, havent had it for a long time. a blatant lie. Unbelievable. Had to ask over and over agsin for 1 and a half hours to get a blanket fot the bed. The tub was dirty. There was nothing but conditioner in the bathroom. No shampoo. No lotion. Staff almost non existent
