Lots of things to do, go see and just plain relax at. The town has shopping, restaurants and just about anything you want to do. Helicopter ride for me. Two to threes days are good if you want to see most things. A week if you are a hiker.

Keystone was everything we had hoped for.
Keystone was everything we had hoped for. Amazing views throughout the State and National Parks. Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse were phenomenal. The Needles should be a must for everyone. I could have definitely stayed another week and still not been able to see everything there is to do.

The magnificent sceneries are breathtaking!
The magnificent sceneries are breathtaking! Driving in the Custer State Park was very relaxing, connecting with nature, viewing wildlife animals, appreciating the preservation of the forests, etc.
I would recommend going to Rapid City for better and more restaurant choices.

Keystone was excellent, be prepared for higher restaurant costs for a party of 6.
Other tourist attractions we visited were all close to our accommodations.
If you are travelling and hope to visit Jewel Cave be aware that you need a reservation.
Other surrounding towns were awesome as well, Deadwood, Hill City.
Next visit I would research other cabins to stay in as there are so many but my searches did not reveal them.
Our stay at Powder House Lodge was excellent.

Keystone is most useful for its somewhat central location in the Black Hills within a ten minute drive of Mount Rushmore. The town itself feels like a tourist trap starter pack with all one would expect to find: a fudge shop, an old-timey photo shop, mostly mediocre yet overpriced local restaurants ($24 for a 16" pizza, for example). One bright spot on this front, however, was Halleys West. A nice little local joint serving delicious buffalo burgers and hand-cut fries at fair prices. Overall, I would recommend this place to stay solely for its location.

I loved how close the motel was to town and Mt. Rushmore.
I loved how close the motel was to town and Mt. Rushmore. Cute motel! But I don't understand why the room was always full of flies, dead and alive. Plus, the ice machine needs to be fixed. I would stay here again, but I'd make sure they got the fly problem under control first.

We booked but when we arrived found the hotel to be closed. No lights or signage and had to find the place in the dark. We finally found it and were greeted by a sign on the door saying they were closed and provided an alternative accommodation option of the Ramada Hotel. Would have been nice to be advised of this before we arrived at 9pm at night. The Ramada was great, lovely people, very helpful and the rooms were nice to relax.
Keystone is a very interesting little town to visit definitely has an old feel to it and the location is perfect for Mount Rushmore Only a couple of miles. Good hotel clean rooms and well maintained. Had all the facilities we needed for our short stay.
The location was good but dining options adjacent to the hotel were closed well before dinner. The car park was onsite so convenient. Breakfast was good.
