We enjoyed that the family had a large space to gather and enjoy one another.
The sleeping spaces were very practical for guests.
We done some baking and cooking and was able to have everything we needed.
During our stay it snowed about 5 inches the first night we were there and having a working fireplace made it feel cozy. Also, there was a shovel in the closet to be able to clear off the porch.
Featuring an on-site restaurant and bar, this 19th-century inn is in Jim Thorpe’s historic district. Outdoor activities, including skiing and biking, at Blue Mountain are a 20 minute drive away.

We went to Jim Thorpe for three full days and two nights in mid-September to celebrate our anniversary. We had a lovely trip and especially enjoyed the Trolley ride (which was informative and VERY entertaining), a separate visit to the Jim Thorpe Memorial, and the tour of the Asa Packer House. All are a must-do! The train ride was very nice as well. We were in the dome car which enables you to get a wide view of the scenery. You should sit on the right-hand side of the train to get the best views. We did not see the fall colors on this trip, other than the occasional tree starting to change. The views will be much more spectacular in a few more weeks, but keep in mind that JT will be VERY crowded at that time. The only downside to our trip was that several restaurants and stores were closed when we were there, which was mid-week. There are plenty of options for standard food but the nicer restaurants were closed Monday-Wednesday, which we did not know beforehand. We would probably go back for two nights, Wed-Thurs, leaving on Friday.

Jim Thorpe is a beautiful town with a lot to keep you busy. Great restaurants and shops. Many tours available of historic buildings. Walking and biking trails. Rafting and kayaking. The perfect place to visit.

Interesting and historic town. Plenty to do.
Interesting and historic town. Plenty to do. It has gotten very commercialized and parking is difficult to find and expensive.
There are a few good restaurants and some good places to stay for couples. Bicycling, rafting, train rides are great. Shuttles are easily available. Many people, including myself, return many times. It is a great place for a retreat or long weekend away. Likable town.

Jim Thorpe was beautiful, and I just wish I had more time.
Jim Thorpe was beautiful, and I just wish I had more time. I will say, plan to walk! There is only permit parking along the streets, with little public parking at the various destinations downtown. There is a giant parking lot by the train station that makes sense to park at and walk, however it was raining the day we went, so we attempted to find parking. Lucky for us we found a spot at our destination. It's a gorgeous town, and the shop alley reminds me of something outside of Harry Potter. It's such a unique and interesting town. Definitely worth the trip.

Went the end of September.
Went the end of September. Many of the stores were closed both Tuesday and Wednesday. Website doesn’t tell visitors this. We went to the jail on Tuesday and it was closed with the sign saying closed Wednesday. Stores that were open, many didn’t open until 11am so if you are up early walk the bike trail to kill time . Stayed in the hotel and bad experience and not worth the money. If you decide to go stay in a bed and breakfast.

I feel that there is plenty to do in Jim Thorpe, a lot of great tours and rides you can do and are affordable. The food is great there and there's a lot of great shops there. There is a music store, a book store (my personal favorites), a couple coffee shops, and alot more other kinds of stores that are great. I recommend the restaurant Myst, it has great Chinese and Japanese food and has great service as well, not too bad price wise either. I also recommend doing the train ride, trolley ride, jail tour, and Asa Packers Mansion tour. All very affordable and fun to do

Easily the best cabin we’ve ever stayed in. Jessica and Scott provided exception accommodations in a beautiful, comfortable, kid friendly, well supplied lodge. The location to Jim Thorpe made daily visits easy and the escape of the cabin when we returned made us never want to leave. Can’t wait to visit again!
Everything was extremely wonderful and very beautiful. Very clean. This is the second time we have stayed here. Convenient to Jim Thorpe. Alot of history in the mountain view suites. Breath taking views from the balcony. We will definitely be back there again. 👍👍👍
