The fish ponds were nice. The lobby was nice. If the pool hadn’t been completely crowded- people were camped out there all day with all of their stuff…food, chairs, coolers etc.- it would’ve been very nice.

Everything was comfortable from amenities and bedroom and kitchen, bathroom updated look.
This is a walk back in time, history of the plantation era.
This is a walk back in time, history of the plantation era. Updated Inn in a sleepy little town. There are a few restaurants and Vintage shop and everyone is friendly. It is a short drive to the Akaka Falls and only about 20min to Hilo. There are many "jungle" walks to explore in the area and an amazing botanical garden on route to Hilo.

Honomu is a small town, 11 mi N of Hilo, on the way to Akaka Falls. It has a GREAT bakery (Mr. Ed's) that offers very tempting offerings. Beautiful scenery. Quite and just a nice place to visit.

Location was perfect for us -- to Laupahoehoe and Hilo-- our primary destination. Too far to volcano or Kona. Depends what the traveler is going to the Big Island for and the duration. Only thing that would nix my return visit is the bath tub. Otherwise it was very comfortable.

The property is located in a farm area with access via a narrow road. It is not well labeled and would be difficult to find in the dark. It is 3 miles from the Akaka Falls.
Wifi service was adequate but TV service limited to streaming options. I found watching a movie difficult because the bandwidth was weak.
The owner had several animals on the property; goats, cats, checkers, rabbits.
When we visited several cats were confined in a small cage with limited water and I a dirty litter box.
